TCU’s leading receiver injured in practice

One of the advantages of spring practice is the opportunity to get a jumpstart on preparations for the upcoming season. One of the disadvantages? A greater opportunity for injury as well.

Unfortunately, that’s where TCU finds itself , although — fingers crossed — the Horned Frogs may have avoided a major injury bullet.

According to Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, wide receiver Josh Boyce left practice on crutches Saturday due to an ankle injury. That’s the bad news; the good news is head coach Gary Patterson told reporters after practice that, at least this point in time, TCU’s medical staff has deemed the injury to be non-serious in nature.

Keeping Boyce would be sort of important for the Horned Frogs’ offense. As a redshirt sophomore in 2011, Boyce led the team in receptions (61), receiving yards (998), yards per catch (16.4) and receiving touchdowns (nine).
