Mack The Knife...its going down! lol
Seriously never been to impressed with Sergio Martinez, well in relation to the hype he's been given. Remember watching the Dzinzirak and seeing the tide turned near the end although Dizinzirak just couldn't handle the power of Martinez. Didn't watch the Barker fight but from what I hear it was a continuation as he was far from impressive. Personally think he gets hit to easily mainly due to his one note head movement defense. At his advancing age I don't think his style is going to be a good look.
Macklin will have crowd support and is coming off a controversial loss to decent contender Felix Sturm. Odds of almost 9-1 for Macklin worth a bet.

I like Martinez but I agree there was a moment in the Dzinzirak fight (7th roundish)where Sergio looked stressed and that Dz almost get a foothold in the fight. Couldn't quite do it though.

I like Martinez over Macklin...but not at -1000. Will probably sit this fight out. Although Macklin inside the distance @ +1500 might be worth a small play. Barker had success using educated pressure on Sergio. Coming forward behind a tight guard...throwing shots from the right distance. If Macklin can do something similar considering pressure his is 'bread and butter' things could get interesting.
Holt/Coleman Purdy/Amar Who do you guys like?
There's also:
Fragomeni -325
Branco +250

Coleman/Holt round prop
Play: Coleman/Holt-over-7.5-145. Also LEANING towards Coleman as a value play. Playing the prop only at present. Also feel Caballero destroys Araiza, and like the under here(8.5-260), but number is quite pricey.

Plays
Hello folks, back to post a few plays..
(Antonio Demarco vs. Miguel Roman - WBC Lightweight Title) 9.5 rounds under @ +175
Demarco is a notoriously slow starter, but I can't help but notice the size disparity in this one. Demarco is a big lightweight, standing at 5'10". Miguel Roman last looked fit at 122, which I believe is his true weight class. A lightweight he is not, and he's a dwarf next to Demarco at 5'5". Roman has pretty bad defense and loves to engage in slugfests, evidenced by his fight against Antonio Escalante. If he does so against Demarco, he's going to get smoked.

I am on that too, under 10.5 / 9.5 / not the distance st odds beteen +125 to +225
Regarding the under 7.5... it will be close, maybe to close; but at +275 maybe worth a tickle...

additional plays
George +300 looks like very good value to me (mid play)
Lee Purdy - Adnan Amar looks like a very close fight to me, so i go with the underdog (+125 / Dec +200) and Draw for a small/mid play
looking deeper into:
Kell Brook vs Matthew Hatton and Sergio Gabriel Martinez vs. Matthew Macklin...
Anyone a strong feeling about those fights?
Cheers

Hi Box, I am on Branco for a kinda similar amount too.
The only thing that makes me wonder, as both are promoted by the same p. I hope that there will be no "pre defined result"... in addition Frago. is the home guy and Branco is ver old, so only a small play.

For the British stuff I tried Frampton in the first half and Brook inside. Just looking at Frampton's opponent cv makes me cringe. Surely won't take more then a handful of rounds for Frampton to blast this guy away.
Despite Hatton showing good durability against Canelo I think its more likely he won't last the 12 this time. Brook offers more than Canelo and I just don't think Hatton will be able to cope with the handspeed. Its usually the punches that you don't see which cause the most damage. Hatton saw what was coming from Canelo and was able to absorb it, think it will be a different story today.
Later tonight still feelin Mack the Knife. I think Martinez is vastly overrated and Macklin's not being given enough credit. I anticipate a good fight. 8-1 is generous, I could even see Macklin stopping Martinez.

I like over 6/7/8 in that fight.
In addition I played for a very small amount Mack inside +1800 / 7-12 +3000 but just based on pure value, as he may has a chance to stop him, given the sometimes sloppy defense of Martines. Maybe Draw at VERY high odds... hmmm... to be honest I dont really see it happen.

Don George/Edwin Rodriguez Under 9½ -105 (single pop)
George is slow, wild, and overly aggressive
I see him being countered to death in an non competitive fight

Looks like a slug fest on paper, under should be slightly favored I reckon.
Caught the British fights. Brook looked pretty good, relatively easy victory over the game but outmatched Hatton. Thought the stoppage was coming at a couple points but credit to Hatton.
Frampton won easily but as suspected his opponent was a joke.
