Ellis Island's steak deal is $7.99 but, well worth the price. Agree with KRC as the steak deal is hard to pass up but, the pork chops and other items on the menu are also very good.

The BBQ place there is not just good but, may be the best in LV. The have a huge outdoor cooker and they are not only tasty but, very reasonable. They offer chicken too.

It is walkable from Ballys but, leave from the exit next to the sportsbook to cut down on the outdoor travel time.

Wow. When I first started going there, around 4 years ago, it was $5.99. But $7.99 is still a decent deal for Vegas.

Dynamite Mexican....

Leticias Cocina.....Off of 95N, Durango and Farm Rd.

Homemade from scratch, Mom's recipes from Mexico City..

REALLY good stuff....Had Marinated Pork Shoulder, a house specialty.

Wife had Seafood Enchiladas...

They start you out with fresh chips, very light and 3 dipping sauces, Bean dip, Verde, and I think Sun Dried tomatoes? (never had one like it)

Dishes came with Cilantro rice, guacamole, black beans, tortillas.

The pork was moist and perfectly seasoned, rice was like butter...each mouthful was a delight.
Seafood enchilada..shrimp, fish, scallops had a lite creamy sauce with cheese.

This is by far the best Mexican I have had in years...

Lunch portions (mon-fri) with sangria came to $25.00 for 2....we both had leftovers.

Dinner is about 50% higher with more food choices.

Last time out I had RibEye tacos...had a slight erection while polishing them off.

Probably 30 minutes from strip, but seriously good home recipes.

Between Vegas activities, we have gotten in the habit of having munchies, salads, lunch meats around the house and eating one big meal a day out.

The days of home prepared Chicken Paprikash are long behind us...

I figure Arizona Charlie on Decatur is off most visitors list, I can understand why, it is a local smoke pit.

They have much better than average slot payback, as they are local dependent. I almost always pull a fast $40-$50 or so on the penny slots when I am there for a quick late breakfast.

Their "Sourdough Cafe" (Arizona Charlie a real character in Western Times, among other skills, sold Sourdough starter to the miners)

Their $2.99 Breakfast skillet comes with a big chunk decent ham,
The $3.99 steak and eggs fills the hole.

Their "signature dish" is killer Chicken Pot pie....they custom make these flakey golden brown dishes daily.
From scratch chicken in every bite, savory sauce, potatoes, peas carrots...absolutely brings back memories of Granny's recipe, be hungry for this monster, $5.99

UPDATE ....

Sadly, Arizona C. has discontinued their wonderful Chicken Pot Pie effective 3-21....
Went last nite got bad news...voiced my protest to a Souce Chef who was standing around....he proudly proclaimed "We have replaced it with a new specialty..Reuben sandwich.." I proclaimed..GEE that is something I can not find in Las Vegas, ANOTHER low tech sandwich offering.....don't think he got it.

Their Chicken Pot Pies have been a staple for the area for a good decade.
