Philly Park Picks - Sun - Tues
Saw your reply in my other thread, Hammy. Thank you. Although, I can't imagine you made anything with those two mediocre picks? I sho didn't .
Just gonna write what I got earmarked for today (Sun) and a little more about a absolutely cwazy pick I got for the 7th that I am NOT recommending to anybody... not even a Peeper.
Just nos. caue the thrill is gone LOL..
Philly Wacetwack, OF COURSE:
3rd race
no. 6 top/bot w. 1,2,7
6th race
I'll be doing somethng (trifectas) with the no. 3 (6-1) on top. Kinda hedge it with a side order of no. 10 (4-1) to WIN, only.
7th race
AHH.. now for the cwazy pick (I'm doing everything I can think of to get the "MAGIC" back that I had at this track months ago). Going with an inconsistant hoss with a terrible record and not much in the connection dept. either. No. 5, El Pichon, 12-1 and I expect bigger odds. Yeah, name sounds like he may have gotten sidetracked on his way to Calder, but I do believe this 5 yr. old is gonna hit the board, almost fosho. Seems to do his best (still that ain't saying much) at the mile distance and, like I wrote here (I THINK it was here) - I'm liking the Castillos these days. One good sign is that he's faced much better and fared OK vs. them. He can close, if nothing else, and that is what I'm looking for in this race. This race may be the ZUPPA Philly special payoff I've been looking for cause I believe the chalk may not be around at the finish in this race. I ain't recommending this play and I'm leary about doing the across the board thingy on this cwazy pick cause I do bet across the board MUCH heavier (three times to Show is part of my across the board bet) as opposed to my STINKIN 2 or even ONE stinkin dollar tries or exactas. Got a strong feeling we're talking the lowest spot on the board (3rd) with this one, but I still may wheel him top/bot with ALL. Not sure yet.
9th race
Not a good betting race, but I got no. 10 top/bot with 1,3,4,5,7 marked. That would be exactas, of course.
Just gonna use this thread for the rest of Philly's "week" of racing (Sun - Tues). MAY NOT POST A THING if there are no playable races. HIGHLY likely, that I will be posting something for TUE$ though esp. if there's an interest in the picks. Tuesday almost always has my kinda card (horse I follow and fields are fuller) but last Tues. was atrocious. I couldn't find one stinkin play and if they repeat that Tues card this week... forget it.
Good luck ballin, MJers.

Just got on a few minutes ago to see my no.6 in the 3rd finish DEAD LAST... Sheeesh! Used to moider these bums at this this track and now getting KILT here.
Looks like it may be BINGO for me cause I sho ain't gonna play baisebawl. Bingo or BUST (actually, the pick would be BUST in that case).
Small fields with VERY close finishes like head bobs. To me, that means you/ME cannot handicap these horses cause it's impossible. Picking a wiener means nothing.. it all luck and that's they way the TRACK luvs it and that really helps keeping the prices attractive.
Thanks for the update 1%er, but that's BAD news, I REALLY liked that one's chances today.
Let's see about the others....
UGH!... no. 3 or no. 7. Not very strong picks either. The paddock will tell me more; I'll be back.
Good luck today, Hammy if you're playing anything.

Looks like the "side order" pulled it out in the 6th. OF COURSE, the coin landed the wrong way when I was deciding which of my picks would be on top of my trifectas. If it came up TAILS, the 10 woulda been on top of my tri.- I woulda cashed that instead. Still, I'll take the result which resulted in a profit for that race. Now, I can get a couple of hot dogs and a beer (er... make that a Pepsi).
Actually, I usually play the longer shot on the side order to insure that it covers the cost of the exotics ($20, in this case) and still makes the race profitable. That idea backfired on me in this race.
I'll be back

Nuthin stood out in the pre-race. No. 7, with Mooch, looked good enough to be the pick. No. 6 looked decent.

7th - No. 10, Blown Save, may have been much the best in that race, but the BLOWN start for the no. 7 costed him plenty. I'd keep an eye out for that one.
One runner left for me.. no. 10 in the last race. "LOOKERS" seem to work for last races of the day, so I may be back with somethng?
sat on this for awhile... that no. 5 is a GOOD looker. Others are 6 and 7. Watch out! 8th race.

Mo stuff
BTW, I had that no. 5 wheeled top/bot in that 8th race also. Early money came in early on that one and it sure looked the part in the paddock.
Fortunately, I DID have plenty on the no. 7, who looked just about as good in the pre-race and had "MY MAN", Rivera in the saddle. I don't care what his percentages are or his "hot/cold" status is.. I LIKE that rider.
Enough profit in that race for beers and dogs for the whole trackside fans. Yep, ALL 20 of them.
Capping wise... it looks like the no. 10 in the finale wires these mutha jumpas. Gotta check the others out though cause that seems to work best in the finale.

no. 9 and 10 are at 6-1 and 5-1 right now. Man, is that awfully tempting.

Yeah, he wired them MJ's (LOL) as expected. Lost the zacks, but did have the small variety of my across the board play (5-5-15) on this one.
Just a hint of the magic is back. Won't be the first time I got fooled recently. It's back AFTER a couple of weeks like today.

Got a buddy close to Sacremento, can't remember the town, dang; haven't heard from him in over a yr. or so. He described the house he bought out there and it sounded REALLY beautiful.
While I'm here... AND YOU'RE HERE.... here's a couple I got for Tues.(today). Beware though - cause, lately, these Tuesday cards ain't what they used to be.
May be a decent exacta in the 6th -> 1,5 top/bottom w. 4,8.
Like the last (10th) race better. Not coming up with one particular horse that I like a lot more than the others but, the pieces to this puzzle come together pretty good for this race. Since I'm only playing 2 or maybe 3 races today, I'm spreading some different bets around in this nightcap....
Trifecta 1,8/1,4,6,8/1,4,6,8... AND 4,6 OVER 1,8 (more than $2/tickets) ... AND 3 OVER 1,8 .
Don't pick just one of those bets if you play this along with me; gotta play ALL those bets. Better yet, maybe it ain't such a good idea to play along with my picks lately. Actually, I've capped them pretty good, but been having TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE luck when their noses hit the wire. Missed quite a few NICE exactas (like the one's I used to hit) by a hair at the finish line toooo many times the past month or so. That freakin 65-1 shot I had that got taken down was one hell of a jinx.
Good Luck, Hammy and MJers, and PT's .

So far ... so good.
WTF, ya meam MY longer shot exacta facta actually got his nose tip in front of the MY favorite pick?
and... and ... I had 4 semi stinkn bucks on the longshot exactas (1,5 on top) and only 2 stinkin dollars on the favorite exactas (4,8 on top)? I did, I did, I did
Does that mean I should back off a little on the last race cause I haven't pulled off the ole 1-2 punches, , in quite a long time.
I'll let yas know in a little while.
Hang in there.

Thanks, Hammy. Sometimes ya just gotta pick the horse with the slightly longer nose.
Tried a warmup for the finale by betting (small) the 9th. Was right on with the no. 3 but not with the other zacta factas
Nos. 1 and 8 looked good in the prerace and used them with the no. 3 (best early speed was the way to go in that race). JUST a warmup (did play the 9th though).
gotta go see if there are any "LOOKERS" in the 10th, but am playing the plays that I posted.

SOMETIMES THERE'S JUST NUTHIN TO WRITE ABOUT "L@@KERS". There isn't a good one and/or bad one in EVERY wace!
Guess that means... go with the picks ?
Most of these horses look like they had enough with the wacing game.. you know, running your ass off every other week, year after year.

More stuff
There ya go.
Two things....
In my other forum, somebody linked me to the "Handicappers Report" for Philly. It reports on trends and average prices for different wace twacks. For jockey.. it had, "Cold Jockeys" and they mentioned two jocks. One was Edwin Rivera.
I wrote back that they need to get Rivera OFF that list even if he has been "cold". I ALWAYS circle his name in the pps. In fact, he's mostly responsible for making this "weeks" Phiily plays successfut for me. That doesn't mean you play every horse he rides . It does mean that you give a little extra consideration to the horse he's on when capping the race.
other thing... pretty much, my standard play is A,B top/bot with C,D. At a $2 basis, it costs $16. BUT, if I play A,B OVER C,D I put more. Only a little more cause usually each dollar AT THIS TWACK gets reflected in the payoffs. Usually I put $3 or $4 on those "just OVER" plays. Yeah, today I did $3.... still added plenty of icing to today's cake though
Hope you got some of that, Hammy.

Jimmy,
Didn't play the TRI in the 10th but boxed the four contenders in an exacta for a decent ROI $$, thanks again for the pronostications.
