Let's get this show on the road - PHIL
Man, there's gotta be a lot of wackos out there.. HM writes a ONE worder post,"Hello", and gets 900+ WACKO viewers. Surely, at least the ones who came back to read it a second or third time are really gone jobs. :o
All I can say is that we gotta get some more horseplayers in this place for me to continue posting ANYthing.
Yes, I did take a vacation from the ponies with just a few exceptions.... last week I saw a horse that I posted as my bestest bet about 3 weeks ago, Tale of the Cat . I bet that one pretty heavy that day and he ran OK, but not nearly OK enough.. got 4th place I believe. All I did since my "vacation" was glance at the entries about once or twice week.. didn't play a thing. One day I see "Tale" entered in the last race and without even looking at any pp's , I just put $20 smackers on his nose. Actually thought about putting much more. Yeah, he won, think he paid $15. The very next day I see Jeleous (spelled something like that) in the LAST race and I did the exact same thing... .... 20 smackers on the nose. Both days I didn't bet any other race and no PP's. Sure enough, that one comes in at $17 and change. Thought to myself, THIS is what "I'm talking about". Betta believe that the next day I check out the LAST RACE, only and don't remember who I played but I DO remember that whoever the bastages was... he ran out. That was it and my "vacation" continued.
Today, I decided to try ending the vacation and see a race that I'll start with while resuming my Wace Twack Ways. Here ya go....
BTW, IF two favorites complete the exacta in this race.. it's gonna be vacation time again cause I got this race pegged as "longshot heaven".
7th race
I got 3 pricey hosses marked for this race... nos. 3 (6-1 M.L.), 4 (12-1), and no. 9 (6-1). Looks like you/ME can do something with all 3 and still have a shot at scoring very nicely in this race cause of their odds.
Not suggesting anybody bets them this way, but here's what I'm thinking of doing with these nags..... ah, make that RUNNERS, not nags.. the horses in this race CAN run a bit.
I'm thinking... wheeling top/bot the one I like bestest.. that would be no. 4, Coltraidor. Yeah, just so happens that the longest priced one is the one I like the most. I'll be looking for this one to mow down the leg weary speedsters.
The other two, nos. 3 and 9, can be bet to WIN, only. Should put enough on each one's nose to ensure that if either wins, they'll return enough to cover all the bets and still have enough left over to make this race profitable. Both should have decent enough odds to get that done.
There are two others that could ruin the party and I gotta see the odds on the ones I'll be playing (above) to see if I can just do something with the two I'm afraid of.. nos. 1 and 2.
The no. 1 also has a M.L. of 12-1 and may even go off at higher odds. He clearly has the speed to just hug that rail and steal this race. He's not my top pick though cause he'll prob. get pressed by at least one of the others and not have enough for the late stretch run. Just enough $ on his nose to ONLY COVER ALL THE BETS just might be the thing to do. Guess, there ain't no "room" left to cover the no. 2 who won't be so pricey. That's the only problem I foresee with this race, but the game is called gambling, right? Hell, there's still the chance that, IF he does hit the exacta.. the other hoss just could be the no. 4 and that would be just fine by me.
Good luck today and do join in here OR recruit some hoss players will ya? so we can stop wasting our time by posting to ourselves.
Forgot something.. got clobbered in the game I "went for the gusto" on asfaras bowls go... Iowa St. Played that one more than double than I played any other bowl game and hoping my trusty 4 legged friends in this 7th race can get it back. (just put too much weight on the fact that State beat Okie St., which is a game I watched too. Couldn't believe that the little, stinkin QB thems got was the same one that played in that Okie State game. Little stinker can't throw the dang ball at all and is afraid when he runs with it. Sheesh, there's gotta be somebody on that I.State team that can do a better job than that squirt.)

Thank you for stopping in Hammy and jtc1984.
JTC, Now I REALLY hope I can get back on track; sure wish you woulda followed for the 2 month+ run I had with Philly sooner. Two picks that paid $90 PLUS within a two week period and plenty of Zuppa Zized Philly zactas during that period. They're all in the archives of this forum.
Just got online and decided to play the 5th. I didn't like this race as much as the 7th, but did make picks for it cause it's a "playable" race.
Not a good sign --> HUGE zacta and I didn't care for EITHER of the bastages. YIKES! And went a little overboard on the nos. 5 and 6 in that race.
I know the horses in the 7th better but we gotta keep our fingers crossed cause the "LUCK" part of my success story is missing lately. And that is an important factor.
Hammy, thanks for the update.. . I wasn't aware of that. I already made the plays I outlined. Scratching those two may be a blessing even though it will hurt our payoff IF I'm right about my picks and they come in. I'm sure one of us will catch another GREAT day at Philly again and plenty more as well but the important part is that we keep well, enjoy life, and be happy.. that's where it's REALLY at. Wish these things for you as well.
BTW, I do like the no. 9 in the 8TH race. I suggest YOU FOLKS watch to see if I do get some of the magic back before tagging along though. IF I DO, and I ain't thinking about only one or two races either.. then GIT ONBOARD again ("again" is for Hammy) and we'll fill them moola bags once again with them big Philly Phunny Bucks that can buy all the electronic toys you want once again.

Reason: IT'S THE 8TH RACE that I like no. 9, fixed it.

CHRISTMAS (DUH) FLYS did us in alright. Still, woulda lost with a 3/5 zacta anyways.
Can't understand how I nailed so many longshots and can not find the right one lately.
I'll be using the no. 9 in the 8th and see if I can come up with something in the finale. WON'T post a thing unless somebody asks cause the magic is gone FOR NOW.
Alrieady played the no. 9 in the 8th with the 2,3,6, and 8 top/bot. Also the 6 with the 2,3 same way.

jtc, I'm getting a headache myself
ALWAYS a little risky playing a "Petro" hoss and today was proof. What a turkey. The horse just looked too good to pass up and paid the price for believing he could overcome his connections.
Bottom line is that the "armoured truck" that got built in Sept- Nov. is still alive and well BUT there is big dent in it's side now.
Don't wanna come back and tellyas that I hit the 9th, so I'll post something cause it LOOKS like a decent race.. suggest you DON'T tail though.

Something smells rotten in Philly
The "Show" was a smashing FAILURE.
Just don't get it... I find one or even TWO longshots and a different longshot wins. I find a favorite that looks close to certain and a different favorite comes in. Worst of all - those two nice last race winners i caught were NOT handicapped at all AND all the losers I'm coming up with were handicapped, carefully, just like all the times that I was just moidering da bums. And I moidered them for quite some time too.
Just DON'T get it???
A race track degenerate would start betting heavier ESP. if he knew he was very successful in the past. Luckily, I ain't a degenerate and the thing to do is to STOP.
Keeping with that, I'll start playing on paper only. Only for how long it takes to see if I can figure out why something that worked so good just stopped working. NO, I don't have a system... forget that stuff; I'm referring to the way I handicap. You know, the methodology.
So, for now, that means my bankaroo is now locked up and there is no sense posting anything until I can figure out what the hell is going on at this twack. So far, I got it down to the fact that there are quite a few foreign (not Phillyites) trainers in town. New owners as well. May have to wait until they get their asses outa Philly before I can resume betting with real moola at this place again. Hopefully, Philly is just a stopover for these foreigners who may be on the road to sunny FLA or even minor tracks, heading south.
IF I see a VERY PLAYABLE race, preferably on a weekday (thems my better days), without any "foreign interests", AND I come up with only ONE horse that I am quite familiar with - I may do an exacta WHEEL with ALL for real. tiny bets (like 2 or even 1 stinkin buck per ticket). We'll see what developes.
Sorry bout he bad start you had today, jtc1984.
