Taking a look at some top returning quarterbacks who have a change to lead their teams to great seasons this year. You may agree/disagree with my list or have other QBs you would like to add. Feel free to do so...welcome all comments.
1. Matt Barkley, USC
Barkley passed up an opportunity to enter this year's NFL Draft to come back and lead the Trojans for another season. He has all the tools to have a great season.
2. Aaron Murray, Georgia
Murray threw 35 touchdown passes with a young receiving corps that figures to be more polished this year. Improved running game would also help.
3. Tyler Wilson, Arkansas
Wilson loses a ton of production to the NFL but has a strong arm, pocket toughness and right head coach to continue putting up impressive numbers.
4. Denard Robinson, Michigan
While Robinson may be the most complete dual-threat quarterback at this level, he must find a way to cut down on his turnovers. Fun to watch.
5. Gino Smith, West Virginia
Surrounded by so many good weapons and in his second year in Dana Holgorsen's offense, it would be a shocker if Smith doesn't have a huge year.
6. Landry Jones, Oklahoma
Jones has the physical gifts and enough up-and-coming receivers around him to rebound from a sloppy final month during 2011. Some question his mental toughness.
7. Tajh Boyd, Clemson
Boyd has the supporting cast and the system knowledge to surpass last season's 38 total touchdowns. I'm looking for a big year from Boyd.
8. Collin Klein, Kansas State
Everyone know's Klein can run the ball, now can he improve his passing skills to match his running. Tough QB who doesn't mind getting his nose bloodied.
9. Logan Thomas, Virginia Tech
Thomas is poised to become the best Hokie to ever play quarterback...including Michael Vick. He does uncommon things outside the pocket for a 6-6, 242 pounder.
10. James Franklin, Missouri
The next in a growing line of good quarterbacks for the Tigers. He accounted for 36 touchdowns and 981 yards rushing in his debute as a starter. Now, he faces hard nosed SEC defenses.
Again, welcome your comments.......
