Wouldn't go anywhere downtown you need to be on strip first time Vegas.Mirage is decent spot and price okay. The Aria is in Ideal spot right next to park mgm where t mobile center is which has nice shows and other pubs and lot of action also shops and food are right across walkway by planet Hollywood Vdara is nice also. id spend a few bucks more on Aria but mirage would be fine also.

Looking at June 18th to 24th now.

Is it too hot at that time?

Any other positives or negatives with going at that time?

Would like to see the Grand Canyon any suggestions for this?

        Should I rent a car?

        Thanks

No need to rent a car, save your money for gambling.

Well unless you are planning a "road trip" outside of the city.

That is one long ass drive, and Blitz is a Madjacker which means he's a millionaire, so he has his own helicopter, so he's good to go.

Looking for hotel recommendations, not looking for the most expensive place, but donít want a dump either. My wife doesnít gamble so I want a hotel where she can keep busy or whatever (pool)... Any other info or help would be appreciated. Thanks!
First timers should definitely stay on the Strip.... The best hotel for what you are looking for is The Mirage....They have the most shaded area of any hotel in Vegas....& based on my visits over the years during the summer months it is not even close....Also the Mirage is centrally located on the strip....

After checking in the first thing you & wife do is get player's club cards which is good for all MGM properties.... Which is about 5 hotels on the strip....Mirage, MGM Grand, Aria, Bellagio, & Mandalay Bay....

Once you & wife get the players club card, put the card into any slot machine & play about $10-$20....You will start getting getting e-mails with great offers to the above hotels....

Except for an occasional football bet, I only play video poker & I get great deals from these hotels....

Imo first timers shouldn't stay at any of the places downtown, but a visit downtown in the evening is a must....

                        Enjoy!

Do not go to the Grand Canyon. If u must go, go on a tour bus. Thank me later; itís cheap and convenient and most importantly, stress free. I would say no to car rental Bc u have to pay to park everywhere now

The Hoover Dam is a much better out of city tour. Book online a few days before Bc the internal big tour of the dam will sellout. Walking over the Dam bridge will also be scorching hot. I donít recommend ever leaving the city on your first trip u less itís a childhood dream to go or something. The Dam tour imho is far more fun and interesting than the GC. Even my first GC trip I was momentarily overwhelmed but then immediately ready to leave.

If you go to the Grand Canyon, for the love of Pete, do NOT do the west rim and the ďSkywalkĒ! Please trust me; it blows compared to the South rim. Donít be suckered in to going Bc it is closer. The South rim is the classic Canyon you have seen from movies and tv shows (The Brady Bunch). If you have already been, please donít go in June. Itís like walking around on a cooking hot plate. Pure misery (been there, done that).

Please download Lyft on your phone and then refer your wife to Lyft. U will both get multiple $5 off fares. Do not get in a cab unless itís for pure convenience.

Do not get on a shuttle from the airport. Use Lyft.

I think itís bad advice for people to tell u to stay on the strip. Downtown is much cheaper, has better gambling, and it is far more fun. It took me living there to finally figure that out.

I second the Westgate Sportsbook suggestion. Ride the monorail there and all over the east side of the strip too as much as possible. Itís cheap and convenient.

Maybe things are improving? Did have a few 20k step days so not for lack of movement.

As for Blitz. Id stay on the Strip. Check out the Linq. Its new, clean, good gambling and very centrally located.
Bender was a fan of the old IP and the dry erase board with all the sports betting lines. That was very cool. 65 is not a fan of the Linq for gambling or the renovated rooms; itís lipstick on a pig.

                              Sorry, disagree with you Clint....

Blitz said his wife doesn't gamble & likes the pool....

Imo, she wouldn't like staying downtown....

The Mirage pool has the most shade & is the perfect pool to stay at....Plus The Mirage is not far from the Forum Shops at Caesars & the woman love that place....

Make the wife happy & Blitz will be able to gamble with a clear head....

They should go downtown for an evening, but should stay on the Strip....

This is really good advice. Downtown for an evening but stay on the strip. Never stayed at The Mirage but itís def in the heart of the action and shouldnít be too expensive but a nice hotel.
