course mavs big faves but the intriguing matchup is suns and spurs in semis ... suns seem like theyve had success vs Mavs and maybe spurs are tougher on them ... I lean very slightly to spurs winning that semi, and then Mavs beating spurs ... in east those teams are not as good as the wests top 3 obviously, but i would give Deet a slight edge to lose to west

curious what you guys think, looks very inetresting for the semis in both conferences

happy easter

First, I'm a big Raptor fan. I'd love to see them make some noise.

However, I can't see anyone beating the Mavericks, but at the same time, I would fear the Heat coming out of the East. They are playing very well right now, and when Wade gets back, they could be very tough. Just leave Antoine Walker on the bench......

I find it hard to discount any of the west's top 3 chances of winning it. Other then them, I don't see anybody having a shot. I think if it is mavs/heat again, cuban would have a guy from the bench get his moneys worth out of all the ticky tack shit they call for wade and have him just break his shoulder again. At least thats what I would do if I owned the mavs, but then again I am from the John Cheney school of coaching :mj07:

The best 3 teams are in the west but here's the problem, they play two tough series in a row and then I think they have the potential for a letdown in the finals against the east thus making it possible for the east to win. I think that could easily happen to the Mavs, Spurs or Suns. Same thing happened to the Lakers the year Detroit won it. They had a rough series vs Spurs that they barely won, then played the TWolves and by the time thye go to the finals they weren't ready to play. Of course this is just my opinion.

I want to believe that sentiment, but I disagree. Sure the series may be dragged out for the western powerhouses, but that won't be the reason for a west team losing to an Eastern Team.

Pistons beat Lakers because of injuries and that team was playing killer defense. That team was good. THey almost beat a Spurs squad for a repeat championship.

Heat beat Mavs because Mavs were taken out of their element. posey and haslem took dirk out and the mavs turned into soft women. (Dwade FT fiasco was a factor too, but not the main reason)

Spurs have history of having long series, even in first round. THey will be fine.
