Here's the first system play post for the 11/14 games...

:director:
Boston to win, no play because the line's at -250
Anaheim +120 over Columbus
Pittsburgh +120 over Minnesota
Calgary -.5 +115 over NYRangers
Nashville +140 over Colorado
LAKings +150 over Vancouver

I'll post my plays sometime this evening.

Thursday Picks

Thursday Picks

I'm playing just about the whole system card tonight, minus the Boston Bruins. I've seen ddubs and Aces on a few of things games and feel pretty good about them. The percentages next to the lines are the precentages that teams in the index/fav/home-away are winning at...

Anaheim (ml) +100 80% W

Nashville (ml) +190 60% (Index has Nashville rated over Colorado by 1.05 points) L

Calgary (-.5) +105 85.7% L

LAKings (ml) +140 80% L

Pittsburgh (ml) +110 80% T

One more thing, of the 23 games away teams have won since Nov 5, 17 of them were dogs by the Dunkel Index. That includes Ana, Pit, And LAK above.

Anaheim is an away underdog playing at Columbus, who is ranked higher than Ana by 1.88 points. In this situation, the away dog has gone 4-1 (80%).

Pittsburg is an away underdog playing at Minnesota, who is ranked higher than Pit by 1.90 points. Again, in this situation, the away underdog is winning 80% of the games.

The LA Kings fall into the same category as the above two teams.

Calgary is a home dog. Since Nov 5, home dogs have been winning at a 72.7% clip (16-6). What's even more impressive is when you look at the index Dunkel has posted. He has NYR ranked above Calgary by 1.17 points. When the home team is the dog by 1.00-1.49 points, they have won 85.7% of the games (6-1).

Nashville is a home favorite, by his index. Home favorites have only been winning at a 51.4% clip (18-17). The reason I'm playing this game is the index has Nashville over Colorado by 1.05 points and when a home team is favored by 1.00-1.49 points, they have won 60% of their games (6-4). With the value this pick has and the contradiction in the posted line, I'm making a small play on Nashville.

My Pop used to play the Dunkle index in
college football when I was a kid - like 25 years ago.

Where can I get more info on this for myself ?

Is there a site for all sports ?

Please let me know...Thanks

Kid

He has indexes up for hockey, men and women's - pro and college basketball, nfl and college football, and baseball. They're all at his site. I don't know that I'm supposed to post links in here and I definitely don't want to piss anyone off (it took me over a month to be able to register), but it's "Dunkel Index" and his website is a .com and very easy to figure out. Basketball has been working really well too, picking sides. I don't like playing the basketball games as much, just because the sides to win are usually the sides favored and I haven't done the reserach on his numbers v. ats. But, for picking who will win, the system I've come up with using his numbers has been working very well: 14-4 the last three days, including a 6-0 day yesterday. I don't know if there's any validity to these picks, only because the test source is SO small, but I think there has to be something to it. I hope that helps

Good luck tonight!

Last thing, all plays are for 1 unit, accept small plays which go at half a unit...

GL 2nite!

Welcome aboard RipIt3! I am on all those plays as well with the exception of the AVS over the PREDS. I think getting out on the road is just what the doctor ordered for the AVS. Preds still have injury issues and the AVS have always been a solid road team. Preds played them real tough in Denver so who knows! Good luck tonight!

Thanks....I know my Dad said it was the best rating
system he has ever dealt with and that goes back
40 plus years of gambling.

I do know that the Dunkel Index was created around 1933.
And - in fact Dunkel himself is stone cold dead......
The rating is also part of the BCS make-up
in the college football ratings.

Just a little FYI education.

I had a bad nite, as well. I'm very interested in this Dunkel Index, seems like it backs mostly dogs, which is right down my alley. Shake it off, we'll get them on Friday.:)

Thanks, I needed that. Had a lot of succes before the last couple nights. Hopefully will come back in full force on Friday - a lot of games on the card. I have a tendancy to get narrow minded, to put the blinders on. Tried looking a little more at the big picture with Friday's games, we'll see how it goes. Thanks for the support.

Conversation between me and one of my close friends the other day...

Ryan - You're gambling on sports?

Me - Yup.

Ryan - You have a problem.

Me - No I don't.

Ryan - Yes, you do.

Me - No I don't.

Ryan - The first step is admitting it. We'll get you there.

Me - I don't have a problem.

Ryan - 1 800 Bets Off man. 1 800 Bets off.

I now have a 1 800 Bets Off magnet. Alright ... guess you had to be there.
