One for tonight. Good luck.

Atlanta +1/2 +160 over MONTREAL 1*

Thrashers have Dafoe in net tonight and having a world class goalie will make all the difference for this team. Montreal really is struggling on the penalty kill and they are making seemingly desperate moves to keep the opposition from lighting them up.

i don't agree with your comment that dafoe is world class but good luck though were on opposite sides...anything can happen with Thedore in net but I still think Dafoe might be a bit rusty plus the thrashers have the worst D in the league

I guess one's opinion of Dafoe is somewhat subjective, but I didn't think rust would be too much of a factors because they held him out and gave him 5 full practices before debuting him tonight.

It really is indicative of just how much the playoffs mean in the NHL when you look at Dafoe's reputation (and accompanying salary). I mean, this guys was touted heavily as a Vezina finalist (along with Theodore and Roy) on NESN Bruins telecasts in March and April of last year but then after one poor playoff series all of a sudden nobody wants the guy. I think he will excel in Atlanta. Obviously the defensive talent is lacking but I love that depth in scoring and I think this team has turned the corner to respectability. After all, they are 5-5-1 in their last 11 games.

i still say he is very overrated...he hasn't done much but get the B's in the playoffs, any average goalie can get the B's into the dance cuz there that damn good...to be honest he hasn't looked 2 bad so far, its funny when the game promo started turner
sports were actling like he was the next Roy LOL...the reason i played the habs had nothing to do with Dafoe but a play
against the trashers and there weak D

Nice hit on this one, tm. Dafoe looked decent, I thought. No awful goals but nothing spectacular, either. I thought the game turned on a questionable no icing call in the second that led to an Atlanta shift staying on too long and letting in the first goal of the game. Them's the breaks when you're slumping, I guess.

Tough break, Nick. But I liked the way they played tonite. I agree with ya that this team should be a nice moneymaker for us this season.
