The Boston Bruins will open their 79th National Hockey League season in 2002-03 with a six-game road trip beginning at the Minnesota Wild on Friday, October 11th, it was announced today by Bruins President Harry Sinden. With the FleetCenter occupied by the annual circus visit from Oct. 10-20, it is the Bruins? first season-opener on the road since Oct. 5, 1993 at the NY Rangers and is just the third time since the 1961-62 season that the Bruins will open a season on the road.
The Bruins will host their first home game of the season at the FleetCenter on Thursday, October 24th against the Ottawa Senators. That night will be celebrated as ?Terry O?Reilly Night,? as the number 24 of the former Bruins great will be honored in a pre-game ceremony.
