I posted that Adrian Peterson committed to USC and that he was 50/50 on on the night before signing day about whether coming to USC or OU. Everyone laughed and doubted me. Well looks like I was right! :) I post this because I was laughed at! Time to eat some crow!

It wasn't difficult for Peterson to get along well with Bush and Leinart, or Hance and Hart. He committed to USC during his official visit before deciding on signing day to go with Oklahoma, which was closer to home.

"It came down to the last day," Peterson said. "It was really tough."

Quotes from Sun Tzu directed at me!

lmfao whoever you are getting that from is clueless

Scott, you obviously dont understand how it works around here. Most quotes from these players are simply made up. It is disinformation at tits finest - some at UT actually think Brown visited Peterson to make sure he went to OU instead of AM. I could post 10 other alleged quotes from Peterson that USC isnt even mentioned. In the end, he probably still goes to OU. USC is not even a consideration, never really was. If they were, Pete Carroll would have been in Palestine Saturday night instead of Mack Brown. It is clear this kid is clamoring for attention and wants as many schools as possible calling him and fawning all over him.

Scott, whatever. I am here in Texas and I know what is going on. As I said, that quote is quite likely made up especially considering the source and what is going on down here.

USC has no shot.

Gwaltney officially de-commits to WVU! Sorry to burst your bubble. I am kinda suprised because this kid won't see the field next year.

It is a fact that Gwaltney along with 3 other recruits stood up and verballed to Carroll. The #1 DB from CA, the #1 Safety from CA, the #1 DE from CA and Gwaltney who is the #1 RB from his state as well. All on the same night! Signing day is in FEB. so things could change, but if I am a betting man, the guy is coming to USC!

Too bad there is not a prop bet who will win the most national championships in the next 5 years.

verbals are a bunch of crap trust me as a d1 coach and d1 family of football coaches, they mean nothing and Gwaltney is not going to usc i know his coach and i know rich and I also know kids that leave for college long way from home end up leaving had it all the time in fl, and he did not say he was not going to wvu. i was just on the phone on fri back there, i don't know where you get your info and a verbal is nothing but i will tell you he won't be going 2,300 miles from his house. He might go to ohio.st but not usc wvu is still his number 1 choice but he will be behind 4 other very good running backs at wvu his first year so even if he does go he will never see the field first year and the same at usc, i don't think he would see the field. But i know wvu better then you know usc trust me and wilson knows wvu since one of his best friends is rich's brother and rich and stevie and i all grew up together and played ball fb,baseball and hoops against each other since pop warner and LL all the way through hs and did things together in the summer and fall growing up while rich was at north marion and he was going out with my cousin sherry retton, so trust me I know and so does wilson what we are talking about.

Trust me I knew about Gwaltney before any coach at usc even heard the name, i have followed him for 3 years when he started going to wvu fb camp. verbals mean nothing so no school should say shit till ink is on the paper , I know players who had 4-5 verbals. Scott you are a fan but don't try and get into coaching and recruiting talks and how it works with me, trust me I know what i am talking about and how it all works. it is ok to be a fan but don't act like you know what goes on as a coach and things like this, he could end up anywhere funny he was in wv a few weeks ago for a 2nd time in a month he has family in state.

First of all, where the hell did I direct my post to you or get into coaching/recruiting talks with you?

2nd, I could care less what you know about WV or recruiting.

3rd, everyone knows verbals are not a binding agreement. Who said they were?

4th, I don't have to act like I know, because I DO KNOW! Maybe you are the one who doesn't know and that explains why you are so defensive.

I know for a fact Gwaltney was at Papadakis Tavern (restuarant where USC likes to take recruits) and he along with 3 other recruits stood up and all verballed to Pete Carroll on Sat. night. Then Carroll went and hugged each and every one of them.

Today, Gwaltney officially "de-committed" from West Virginia.

USC is also recruiting RB Stewart from Washington and many say he is the best RB in the country. If he verbals to USC, Gwaltney might change his plans. So lots can happen from now until signing day.

Will Gwaltney come to USC? Nobody knows for sure. He could have been caught in the moment and verballed but once home he realizes USC is far from home. I do know he verballed to the USC coaching staff and I do know he officially "de-committed" from WVU. I don't really care what you know because you have not offered any substance on this issue. He has family there? DUH. You know his coach. Thats great! You are a WVU fan. THATS GREAT! You were a coach. THATS GREAT! You know D1 coaches. THATS GREAT! You claim to know more about WVU than I know about USC. THATS GREAT! What else did you say to try and validate your opinion?

You ask where I get my info? FROM PEOPLE WHO KNOW THE USC COACHING STAFF! The same people who were also at Papadakis Tavern that night and saw with their own eyes! The same people who told me Peterson was on the fence coming to USC the night before his LOI day. The same people who are 90% right of the time.

Early recruiting rankings are garbage. There are soo many silent verbals out there and all this big recruits don't like to announce early. Most prefer to wait later in the year or even on signing day. Why not? They all get wined and dined and treated like royalty. However, majority of them already know where they are going from day 1. Before Sat. night USC had 70% of their class done but most of them were/are silent verbals. FSU is the same way. FSU always closes big on signing day but their recruiting class looks average until then.

That said, Callahan is turning out to be a great recruiter.

you did not i am just saying that before you tried to tell me what you know and how much more you know then us other people, you have a major habit of doing that as usc's number 1 fan, which i said is great, i bet you all he ends up at ohio.st where he can play as a fresh. and was trying to piont out a verbal is nothing but bs most of the time, to get the stakes upped from other schools.

I never mentioned you in my original post and I never put you or anybody down. I was the one who was put down when I posted the Peterson info in Feb. That is why I posted it now. Understand?

I never said I knew everything and I never said I know more than you or anybody else. I could care less if I know more or someone else knows more about me. I am all about sharing and receiving info. You are the one who went defensive. Not me.

Let me give you another example. USC recruited Fred Davis from the state of Ohio. I posted he was gonna come to USC and Hellah said NO WAY and he was from Ohio and knew more than me bla bla bla. No way USC gets him over Ohio St. Fred Davis is at USC right now! To Hellah's credit, he acknowledged he was wrong.

Lastly, I have never seen film or anything on this guy. I know very little about him as a player. I never said I knew more about him than anybody and I am sure you know more about him as a player than majority of people. In fact I never even attempted to talk about him as a player. I do know from what people tell me is that he is a great powerful running back. That is what USC is looking for in this recruiting class. Gwaltney and Stewart are the 2 big RB's USC is recruiting. Both are studs. Hopefully USC gets one of them.

No need to be so defensive Fletcher.

not deff my bad typing when in a rush, and my points are hard to understand when i just read my pst, i don't think he goes to either because of playing time, and I have lost many players from just the east comming to fl who left 1st sem home sick 2300 miles is a long way to go, rich was at his last 2 games and on the sidelines, then around 2 weeks before thanksgiving usc and ohio.st got in race he was not well known past the miss. but once 1 big school finds out others look in, but i knew ap gave a verbal to usc was not talking about that, i made a point to cut you off because you love usc so much and like i said that is great you are tilted towards them at times which is fine as a fan.

I made a point aurburn got screwed like usc did last year, and you tried to prove me wrong, well you brought out the brash tacks and stuff but if you were auburn fan, you would of been upset like you were last year, i said i had no problem with ou.usc match up just was how cards played out and said only coaches should vote and not till after week 4, then you tried to tell me that could not work, well that is what they have been looking at for about the last 4 years now, but nothing will change without a playoff and that will never ever ever ever happen in d1 fb because of huge bowl money, drop it i am busy was not a shot at you was trying to cut you off before you went on a pro usc rant is all, which i said is great to like a team so much in the good and the bad, i am not a major wvu fan i like them for reasons ,i am a fan of miami and texas schools i followed growing up besides wvu but they were not the horns in the late 70's or the cains of the 80's they did good in the 80's and i went to every home game from age 6 till i went away to college . but i am not of fan of anyone in what I do can't be.

Enjoy your title game forget jg not going to go there and if he does he won't stay he wants to play now as a fresh and that won't happen at either school, ohio.st he can step in and play, I have watched now 3 games of his this year he can play big, fast and full of power but the teams i watched him against not saying he is not very very very good did not have linemen like you see in hs in pa,oh,fl and tx and ca not many 280 pound hs linemen in the games i watched, in the states i said lot of your hs are like ncaa teams in size up front the teams i watched him against were not like those states, but he will be a very good player and he is a great kid off the field has a kid he brings to the game with him who is in a wheel chair for life and that is jg's number 1 fan and you don't see that much in hs and he has good grades.

but I will go on rec and say he will not see the field at usc or wvu if he goes to either for at least 2 years he would be a red shirt fresh and he does not want that. so ohio.st I say.

now if you can figure out all that babble good another rush type job.

good luck in your title game i lean to ok a bit at this time slight but just a lean, lots can happen from now till game time, players get in trouble all the time over stupid things at christmas break the few days they are home every year 1 or 2 key people get the boot and same with injuries and then a few will break cf and be benched not saying all from those 2 teams i am talking in all bowl games.

question have you seen him play and even if you have not trust me he can play, but do you really think he would see the field at usc next year ,i know he won't at wvu and quite sure he would not at usc as a fresh. IMO

No i have not seen him play but I do prefer the bigger powerful running backs. So I def. want this guy or Stewart from Washington. Both are powerful RB's.

Do I think he will see the field at USC? Carroll gives no seniority on his team. Best players play period. 2 senior DB's who were projected to start from everybody were beat out by a junior DB and a redshirt frosh this year. USC also uses RB my committee.

Gwaltney would have to beat

5-star Bush (soph this year)
4-star White (soph)
4-star Dennis (junior)
4-star Washington (frosh)
3-star Reed (frosh)

I also know for a fact that Bush and White told Gwaltney they both will be going PRO after next year and USC took ZERO RB's in last years recruiting class.

I made a point aurburn got screwed like usc did last year, and you tried to prove me wrong,

You can't compare USC and AU from last year and this year. USC was #1 AP and Coaches poll, AU is #3 in both polls + computer polls. Neither team technically was screwed. Unfortunately for AU, they don't get to play for a NC like USC did last year.

good luck in your title game i lean to ok a bit at this time slight but just a lean, lots can happen from now till game time, players get in trouble all the time over stupid things at christmas break the few days they are home every year 1 or 2 key people get the boot and same with injuries and then a few will break cf and be benched not saying all from those 2 teams i am talking in all bowl games.

You are dead on. Lots can/will happen between now and game. I think you can make strong argument for either team to win. FYI, USC should have 3 previously injured players back for the OB. Starting OL, #1 2nd string Defensive Tackle, and Lendale Whites ankle should be healed or close to 100%. That is huge for USC as 2/3 did not play the last 3 games of the year and White played injured all year.
