No "new" information here, but this is presented in what I see as a very unbiased way and mentions most of the major problems with our health care system.

I did notice that Tort reform was not in this article, and I thought that was interesting.

Eighty years ago, in 1929, as hospitals tried to find a way to stay in business in the face of a failing economy, Blue Cross was founded by a group of Dallas teachers who agreed to pay about 12 cents a week for up to 21 days of hospitalization a year at Baylor University Hospital.

Do you think our greed and self-importance has played more than a huge role in this lengthy collapse???

Yep funny they didn't mention tort reform--you think that ave cost of malpractice insurance being around $90,000 would have to fit into equation somewhere on what Dr's have to charge--and add to that cost of MRI (to cover their ass)when simple xray would suffice.

at least moreso than their rant on --

Two groups of Americans are experiencing growing insurance coverage gaps -- children who reach the age when they are no longer eligible for their parents' insurance coverage and older workers, who lose their jobs and are not yet eligible for Medicare.

-cost less to cover child 18 to 25 than cost od cable television or cell phone--

--less than $100 month in ky.

-older workers not eligible for Medicare I do have sympathy for--their premiums are outragious.
