Are Vitale and Patrick on the Duke payroll???

Dick Vitale is America, He loves Duke, Duke loves him,Duke is a symbol of everything good about sports in America, What's wrong with a great American like Dick Vitale,loving a great American institution like Duke. You sound like a communist. You got something against great education and winners. Why not pump up these two fine boys ? Redick and Williams are the kind of guys every father would want their sons to be like. Think about it,these fine boys are going to make more money than 90 % of the people in the land. That's America. If you don't love Duke,you can go straight to hell because you probably don't love the baby Jesus. LOL ( couldn't help myself )
even in wyoming they should have tv's with the mute button. i have been duke fan since 1960 and stopped listening to them years ago. last i checked most of the players graduate and stay out of trouble. they even have white guys redick, paulus, melchionni,mcroberts, johnson that average about 110 minutes per game. for a middle age wasp like myself that used to play i kind of enjoy that. they have a dress code and a hair length and facial hair code. i agree they get too much nat'l press and i wish it would stop.
seems to me brand, boozer, maggette, hill, jason williams,dantay jones, battier, daniel ewing are all in the nba. dunleavy is white and playing. danny ferry and christian laettner has long careers in the league . ferry is now gm of the clippers i believe. even bobby hurley made the league until he was injured in car wreck. please clarify what you mean by" never making it". nonetheless it sure seems like they "make it" in college. sure hope arizona makes it as a 9th seed and comes to greensboro for some more east coast basketball. who knows, a second round game vs duke might get you on national tv.gjn23 said:

i'm torn on this issue because vitale's voice makes me sick to my stomach. after watching duke over several years time i am convinced they are a great program and quite deserving of the recognition they receive. at times i have openly bitched about battier getting the calls against everyone - especially against arizona a few years back. nothing can change the fact they are a great program and they play basketball the right way. if the gm's of the nba would draft a couple of guys like a mcroberts they could probably play together. but the nba is constantly looking for the next mcgrady and the benches are piling up with the kendrick perkins. the reason why a guy like reddick should struggle in the nba is because the damn games are all 1 on 1 and no one ever plays defense. if teams actually played like a "team" they could really use reddick's ability to shoot. hopefully the man will add a little bulk to his frame.
we will see, but morrison may be a better pro because he is taller and will not need as much space to get his shot off.
anyway, duke should not be rated ahead of uconn in this tourney.imo.
that said, duke is a great program and coach k does a fine job at duke.

It a good book about this team who lost to Kentucky in the Final........If it was'nt for Jack "goose" Givens......Duke would have won it all that year..........

Duke is the program that all college teams should aspire to be like..
Scholar athletes......take the mike on senior night and send articulate messages of thanks to their fans in Cameron.........Speaking of Cameron...there is no college venue to compare.....team spirit, noise, etc........Then add that they are the best program in the land over the last 10 years.........and have not, to my knowledge, sold their souls to get there....
Now I'm looking forward to a CT/Duke final with CT on top again but I believe that DUKE is the program to emulate

Mav, not a big Feinstein guy, when it comes to books about sports, I rather read about periods that I have not lived threw. I was 16 then,don't want to change anything thats left in whats left of my mind.
