I like bama here to cover at home. Offense has been struggling but expect a steady dose of Shaud Williams and a struggling N. Ill offense against one of the best defenses in the nation. Under looks like a good play too, whatever its at.

I agree completely! Its hard to believe that in 4 months the coaching staff and players have jelled this much but they have. In the past 3 years there has been no such thing as "home field advantage" for Alabama but with the arrival of shula and the team's success so far, it is now once again very hard to beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa (especially at night).

NIU linebacker Nick Duffy said in an interview the other day that, "this was the biggest game/opportunity ever for us."
When those NIU players run out of that tunnel and hear 85,000 screaming Alabama fans, they will know that they are in a world of sh**. Im not trying to say that NIU is not good. They are a decent team that is on the rise. However, they are still far from being able to beat and SEC team like Alabama on the road (at night).

Alabama -13.5 3 units

I see Croyle having a breakout game here. He has not showed much this year and has struggled with the short passing game, but with N. ILL inability to stop the best running back in the sec in williams it will open up the slant route to Luke and the long ball to Fletcher. Bama gets up early and rolls to victory. 38-10.

In my opinion there has always been a home field advantage at Bryant Denny. Granted some years they do not take advantage of it, i.e. Dubose's last year, i think the hype got to them that year like (being ranked 3 preseason), much like it has got to auburn. There is nothing like being able to here a pin drop in a stadium of 85000 when the Bear comes on the jumbotron and chills run down your spine, and then a sea of crimson runs out of the tunnel. Sorry for the bias, roll tide.

Too close to Wisconsin
I can remember the Tide having some problems in recent years with smaller schools. Off the top of my head - La Tech, Central Florida, couple of games with S. Miss, MTSU to name a few. Of course this a different year, new coach, etc. but that home field advantage hasn't been that strong.

That being said, I don't think Northern will cover that number. Don't think they will get throttled but they will wear down in the second half and get beat by more than 14.

That is a point but Central Fla., MTSU and the S. Piss game( two years ago) were in Birmingham at Legion Feild and if I am not mistaken Bama covered last years Southern Piss game at Bryant Denny. I am drawing a blank for where the La. tech game was but do recall the game. The thing about Bama is that they do not have(with the exception of Cental Florida in Duboses last a year) to win the 1st half to beat teams convincingly because eventually the size and speed will win out.
About Dubose: He got a job coaching Northside in Dothan, AL last year and led them to a 0-11 year. Theres that coaching genuis Mal Morre( Bama ad) was talking about.

What the hell does that mean War eagle? I dont get it. You like N. ill or Bama? Great win against vandy lol, but tuberville will never have a 10 win season and auburn will never win a real national championship and please dont write back with that bull shit we won half of one in the 50s talk. Auburn sucks.

I said best in the sec. Who are you referring to as the best in the nation. Cadillac?, lol. Before vandy yalls great 4 back system was averaging 1.1 yards per carry. all hype nothing on the field. 2 weeks this year shaud has been sec player of the year. cadillac is a fragile little beitch. Ronnie Brown is the best the tiger eagles or whatever have but tuberville is too blinded by the hype of cadillac to realize.

War Eagle:

Glad you guys finally scored a TD. WTG. A BIG accomplishment.

NIU is better then Central Florida, Southern Miss, La Tech, the other people that beat us. However those losses were in 2000. We did not have that good a team and we had Dubose. How you can base any sort of bet on that, I have no idea. Plus we did struggle a little with MTSU last year in BIRMINGHAM. However we won by 10.

I like the Tide as long as it is 14 or lower. I rarely, if ever, bet with Alabama because I do not bet with my heart. However, this is one time that I think it is a good bet.

BTW, Turner might be the best back in the country. One thing is for certain, the 4 Horesman in AU are NOT. :thefinger :thefinger

;) ;) ;) :D :D :D

The "Roll Tide in Hawaii quote". I was just saying that they do not even have a good enough team to be thinking of a bowl right now and i have had to hear all this bs about their great team and now that they dont have one its back to talking about bama's probation. I realize that when auburn was on probation they had the best team ever not to play in the national championship. Just respect them for what they do on the field is all i say.

Crimson, WTF is your problem. Your a typical tuscalooser. I said nothing about us, nothing about our RBs, and nothing about us having a good year. I was referring to NIUs back being one of the best in the country. NIU WILL cover the line this weekend!

I will be the first to tell you that we were the most over/rated team going into this year. I said in earlier threads that there was no way auburn would go undefeated. I also said that Tubs would gamble or coach away three games. USC destoyed us, not coaches fault, but GT was the worst coaching and offensive gameplan i have ever seen. We all have very tough roads ahead in the SEC what other conference could say that they still have to play numbers 7, 10, 12, 14, and 21. I mean seriously.

Just remember crimson and WARD!
17-7

Good luck this weekend
