Big game here tonight. My stepson's HS Semi Finals Game.
We are Columbus East
Winner plays the final next week at the Colts Stadium, Lucas Oil Stadium, certainly a thrill for the kids.

Columbus East is #1 in the state and New Palestine is #2.

This is huge!

A week after snapping Bishop Chatard?s 21-game state tournament win streak in the regional, the New Palestine football team?s semistate task isn?t any easier.
The Class 4A No. 2-ranked Dragons will be challenged Friday with stopping one of Indiana?s premier running backs, as New Palestine (13-0) visits No. 1 Columbus East with a berth in the State Finals on the line.
The Olympians (13-0) are led by junior Markell Jones, the second best player in the class of 2015 regardless of position, according to one recruiting website. Offered by the University of Toledo and with interest from Auburn, Louisville, Iowa, Indiana and a host of other schools, Jones? reputation precedes him.
?I?ve talked about him all week I think,? NP coach Kyle Ralph said with a laugh. ?He?s very good, he?s a very good football player. He runs tough, runs physical. Got pretty good speed to him, pretty good vision.
?I told the kids he?s kind of a mixture of the best of all the backs we?ve played this year. He?s going to be a good challenge for us, that?s for sure.?
The five-foot-10, 200-pound Jones is averaging 12 yards per carry with 2,168 yards and 36 touchdowns for the season.
Jones? numbers would be even gaudier, but he?s seen limited action in the fourth quarter. Columbus East?s closest games were 28-point wins over Bloomington North and New Albany. Overall, the Olympians are averaging 52.3 points and allowing 10.8.
Columbus East ended last season in a blowout, as well, although it was the victim in a 49-14 semistate loss to Cathedral, which went on to win its third straight state title and fifth of the previous seven years. The Irish were bumped to Class 5A this year, opening the door for Columbus East and New Palestine.
Even with Cathedral out of the way, Columbus East coach Bob Gaddis pledged his team isn?t assuming an easy path Friday toward what would be the program?s first state finals appearance since the Olympians won a 3A crown in 1979.
?It?s been unfortunate for us that we?ve met the state champion at the semistate level a number of times,? said Gaddis, whose team also lost to Cathedral 62-7 in the 2011 semistate. ?The way we look at it is we play another great football team in New Pal. Obviously they belong at this level, too. So we?re going to have to play a great game to try to win that one.?
The Dragons have been just as dominant as Columbus East this fall, winning by an average of 42.8 to 8.9. And while New Palestine survived a true test from three-time defending 3A state champ Chatard last week in a 27-14 regional win, Columbus East rolled Jasper 42-0.

New Pal Dragons going to win tonight, my step daughter will be on the sideline as a trainer tonight. Make sure you bring a madjacks shirt for her
I'm hoping we have a contest because we're usually up by 35-40 in the first half and they pull the starters. Been kinda boring. We're #1 for a reason. :0008

East plays faster than Oregon and I haven't seen any defense ready for that.

Hoping for a good game. :toast:
