Veterans due in camp today. Can't wait to start watching some hockey.

Brian Cummings and Dean Stock, both 25, were brought in yesterday for tryouts. Tough luck for Stock, the younger brother of P.J. Stock who was quickly sidelined when an errant skate blade caused a nasty cut across the back of his leg. . . . Coach Robbie Ftorek and GM Mike O'Connell were absent, attending a league seminar in Toronto about rules changes and/or tighter enforcement. . . .

One high-placed member of the team hierarchy hinted it is possible that erstwhile No. 1 goalie Byron Dafoe, an unsigned free agent, will be back with the B's.
