just curious to see if you guys think this is really news?

the vast overwhleming top Cfball schools cheat in the same fashion, been going on since the advent of the wheel and every X amount of years something like this comes up and people are aghast and say it will change, heads will roll, etc ...

The Wizard had Sam Gilbert

USC got caught handing out $$ like Pez

Chris Washburn, Moses Malone, Billy Joe Hobert, The Pony Express gave SMU the death penalty, (and thousands more) all have their stories ...

I mean, it's like espn thinks they found the Dead Sea Scrolls

anyway, my informal poll would ask: YES or NO ...
do the vast majority of CFB Powers cheat?

my vote, I think you already know ... Curious if anyone disagrees

take care

I agree, almost all ncaa div 1 programs that are in the upper tier "cheat" by breaking NCAA violations in some way or another. Clarett is a sell-out though, it's not like he called them out out of the goodness of his heart. He did it out of spitefulness for basically the result of his own choices.

they all cheat, even smaller div I schools like my alma mater, Western Kentucky. Tellis Frank was quite a player at Western and spent a few years in the NBA after he graduated. He always had nice stuff on campus, brand new vehicles, nice clothes, etc. I know he was getting quite a few "hundred dollar handshakes".

Maybe the solution would be to reform the whole system that exploits these players to the universities' gain. That's what breeds many of these problems.

Maybe his wifebeating Advisor Jim Brown prompted
him to turn rat.

" No " it's not really newsworthy..because it's like gravity...you don't have to see it to know it's there !

I did hear ESPNs Mark May say that he doesn't think Clarrett will be drafted because noone will ever trust him..not the ownership or his teammates. Clarrett is now labeled a rat amongst his other accomplishments.

Whatever happened to that investigation of The Mysterious Northwestern-Ohio State Game from a few years ago..I thought The FBI was investigating for point shaving ?

If the allegations could be proved true, would Ohio State have to give up the 2002 national title? I don't know how those rules work, but that would obviously be somewhat newsworthy.

I agree with you pt1. I think they have to report like it's a huge story, so it doesn't become second nature news.

I am all for paying college athletes a salary (at least one that is over the table). I know they already get their school paid for, but they (at least the major sports) are doing their part in keeping the school there. I believe that they deserve it because they are not allowed to hold jobs.
