There are two short 5 minute videos for this "special".

Part One:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiyJzWy3CDQ&mode=related&search=

Pay close attention to the part about who the most hated minority is.

Part Two:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPHnXrU5JzU&mode=related&search=

Pretty sad when Stephen A Smith is representing atheists, especially since he isn't one. He does a decent job defending the rights of atheists to have a voice, but that's about it.

Karen Hunter is clueless. She really gains a lot of credibility by saying that atheists need to just shut up. That is a very intelligent position. She believes atheists don't have the right to impose on her right to want to have prayer in school....I just she doesn't understand her own argument. I also like her points about atheists not having a good PR team and Hallmark cards. :mj07:

Debbie Schlussel believes the "real discrimination" is atheists against christians. Ummmmokay.

Is this where you want to be when Jesus comes back?

i was just kiddin`,bro....it`s an old joke....but i do wonder about something... i`m amazed at how atheists can spend hours talking about what is wrong with a god they don't believe in.....sort of like debating who is better, spiderman or batman....

you know, why would atheists care about christians saying that they're going to hell, given that they don't believe there is such a place?......

it seems odd...

You mean here on earth? I hope to be dead and stinking. (If I believed that Jesus is coming back)

I guess now is as good a time as any to break the following news: I'm an atheist. The line about Jesus was an attempt to make what is often referred to as a "joke". I try to tell them from time to time, be on the lookout.

A cardinal, a priest, and a registered sex offender walk into an unsupervised day care center..........nevermind.

Have you ever known someone to be dead wrong on a subject and just couldn't let it go? You could walk away, or you could try like hell to drive sense into their heads.....I can't walk away. My tactics might change, but I'm trying to make headway....be it with the hard core (Buddy) or the casual fan of the Lord that hasn't taken the time to a) read the Bible b) think about their beliefs or c) understand why religion exists (there's probably a d) - m), but I'm writing on the fly).

I've mentioned it before, but I feel the need to drive the message home because I honestly believe that if mankind goes the way of the dinosaur, religion will be the reason. I believe in humanity and religion is the greatest threat to it.

When did I question your status/position? I thought you were unclear on my position, so I tried to clear things up a bit.

Two atheists bickering in the Politics and Religion Forum? This might be a first.

No problem...I got it now. I was unclear on your beliefs....sorry about that.

o.k...it`s not a big deal to me...i`m not a guy that`s well versed on the subject...not terribly religious myself...

it just always seemed alot of atheists aren't really atheists.... so much as people who are somehow angered by a church or someone religous....or feel that they somehow got the shitty end of the stick....

i think religous people refer to them as "angry at god"?...i don`t know....that`s how it sounds to me...

anyway, they still act as though god exists by defying him, arguing about it.... thus negating the whole point of atheism......like they`re not really comfortable in their belief(or non-belief).....so they try and ram it down people`s throats......

almost like religion...

they're usually the ones that talk about how bad god is......

it`s like their personal jihad(bad turn of phrase....lol)......like the old"thou doth protest to much" saw....

what i`m trying to say is that i have always assumed that the true atheists probably don't bother trying to explain what is wrong with god....

why would they?...they don`t care...they`re not buying it....they don`t have to convince anybody...

i don`t know...just thinking out loud....

True atheists don't believe god exists, but it doesn't mean they leave the subject alone. Why? Because religion plays an intrusive role in our lives. Lots of laws are based on "sins" (no pleasure for you) and have no place in a modern society. Doing drugs is illegal? You can't buy beer on Sunday until after church hours in some states? Dry counties? Ridiculous. How do you not speak out against this. In order to make your argument against pleasure laws based in religion, you have to attack religion....you have to disprove the belief in god in order to make your case against stupid religious laws.

You're probably closer to me (in philosophy and belief) than you are Buddy.

you`re this hot on religion because your "pleasure rights" are being abused?.......you can`t buy beer on sunday?.....

d`you ever try grabbing a case on saturday and holding it for sunday?.......

there you go...weasel to the rescue...:142smilie

c`mon...you can change those laws.....without discrediting or abolishing religion....

the reason i mentioned this is i have a friend that`s an atheist...he sees no need to talk about how bad religion is.....he said," i might as well start talking about how bad the "spaghetti monster" is.....he`s living the life...

he has a live and let live philosophy...as long as no one is shoving religion down his throat, and as long as he`s allowed to live freely(pleasure laws not withstanding) - and others OF faith are allowed to live freely, then he`s happy with that.....

there's a word for it - its called freedom...freedom of religion.......freedom of association....and in a democracy you can change those laws without depriving someone of their freedom to worship as they please...

sheesh,we`re not living in saudi arabia....

now,if we were living in saudi arabia,i`d be buying what you`re selling...

i think there`s enough room in the madjack`s tent for atheists and god-believers of whatever stripe....

i mean,we aren`t marxists....

thanks for humoring me,gm.......good stuff.....

carry on....:toast:

Thiis is where we take the fork in the road -

You place your belief and trust in the creation......

I place my belief and trust in the creator.

I believe in God and that His son, Jesus Christ, is the savior of all mankind.

First understand I dont care what you or anyone else feels about religion it is a personal thing that should be respected either pro or anti. Having said that I feel there are two things to keep in mind.

1) You lump all religions into one and act as though they are all the same.

2) If you can tell me how the universe got here or whatever you want to consider the first thing that we know of then I will tell you that super natural things do not exist. It is obviously a rhetorical question as you or anybody else(scientifically) does not know. All I want is someone to tell me how the very first thing got here  If you cant then please do not act as though you have all the answers.

Please explain why religious beliefs should be respected.

Just a newsflash: Religions are all the same. Feel free to make a case to the contrary.

Lack of understanding on how the universe began does not prove the existence of a supernatural creator.
I don't claim to have all the answers, and never have. I choose not to make stuff up when I don't know.

Buddy, I hope sacrificing your life on earth is worth the one you expect after this one. I choose to make the best of this one and do good while I'm here for the sole reason of being a good person. That is the fundamental difference between us.

I worded that poorly. I meant to say that you have to show the absurdity of the belief to make your case.

Regarding Christianity, a "leap of faith" is required (Thanks to Happy Hippo. I'm getting a lot of mileage out of that phrase.).

Not a big one........a "peepy leap" will do just fine.

If God decides you are sincere and have a contrite heart, He will reveal Himself to you.

Then you can draw your own conclusions.

This is why all Christians have a testimony.

Granted, it's subjective but it's undeniably real.

Not all of us can say eloquent prayers or have effective powers of persuasion, but ALL OF US have a testimony.

After our leap of faith, something happened in our life which allowed us to arrive at our own conclusion that God is supreme, that His son, Jesus Christ died for our sins and anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
