so, how do you get comps at the casino? Do you have to play at a certain level before you get noticed? Does a host come up and offer you free stuff? How does it work?

I've learned really fast that poker players have a tough time getting anything for free, lol! I think at Ceasar's Indiana you get a credit of about 50 cents an hour. :mj07:

When I was there last week, however, I played craps over 3 hours. They asked for my players card so I could be "rated". What's that mean? Guess not much, or else they rated me as "give no comps".

Thanks for any how-to, all u comp getters.

I think its simply how much you play for... regardless if you are winning or losing. I've been to Vegas twice and IMO its hard to get comped there, but in Tunica and Biloxi, its fairly easy.

I'm no expert on comps by any means, but ALWAYS ASK for one. You might sound like a cheap ass, but who cares? Nobody should deny free money.

if you want comped at the casino's restaurants, just ask... just like it goes w/ asking chicks out... the worst thing they can say is no... well... haha

best way to get comped is to play slots, slots is casino biggest money maker so they want you happy
poker players dont get much vegas-$1hr belterra $1hr ceasars .75hr casino gets no big wins, just rake
other games you get some but not much unless you go often

other than betting in the sportsbook which the hotels seem to not care about, i only play video-poker & use my players club card....& i get very good deals from the hotels...

i would see if the casinos that you frequent have players club cards..

A friend of mine was at Vegas a couple months back. (He bets nickels in sports.) A pit boss on the floor told him he had no shot at compt anything. The whole town has backed off those big time.

Players card on slots/video poker leads to the best comps. Most of the machines can give you a 'running total' on your points.

Some places let you cash points in for $$$, some just for meals & room rates.

No matter what you play, slots/table games/etc, show them your players card !

Clint I am very modest gambler especially @ Casinos
We take golf trip every year to Tunica and after
1st trip haven't paid for room or meal in last 3 years.

I play video paker in evening and $5 black jack in early morning.
Though I only play $5 BJ I always buy in with 2 or 3 hundred dollars when I give them rewards card.

Here is rewards comp for next years trip--

Player Name: Wayne Hoehn
Card Number: XXXXXXXXX
Point Balance: 43282

I always just ask.

Never been turned down for food, usually get comped at the buffet. I always just ask for food, nothing more saying "I play here a lot and really like to get something to eat after I play, can you comp me?"

I've been on the craps table (usually happens when I'm ahead) and been rated and have gotten a buffet and a free night a few times.
