I?m not one for betting on baseball this time of the year, but is there anyway that you can see any value in betting for the Cubs? Nobody via the newspapers, the sports talk shows, casual conversation is thinking about anything but the world series due to the fact that the Cubs come home with Prior and Wood. The players are even saying that if the Marlins can go to Wrigley and take out their two aces, then they deserve to go. It sounds like their banking on two strong efforts and it sounds like they?re overconfident and they?re not that good of a team to take anyone lightly.

My plan is to put a unit on the Marlins at whatever the line is at game time and if it wins roll it again in game 7. I would assume both lines will be at +250 by game time and if the Marlins make it to the series, I?ve got 8 more units to end the year with and if the Cubs make it to the world series, well. . . the CUBS MADE IT TO THE WORLD SERIES!!!!!

I hate to say it being a big cubs fan, but your right. Marlins are not that bad of a team and they do have a little momentum coming up to Chicago. You can say the cubs just want to win it at home which more than likely they will, but you never know. I'm thinking a least putting a half unit on the run line for the Marlins and even maybe a half on the Money Line. Marlins know they have really nothing to lose now, and might just do about anything too get some runs. This is their second time seeing Prior also, so they might have a better idea what he does. But in the end they all say good pitching beats good hitting.

good luck with whatever you play.

I am a huge Cubs fan - and am the first to admit that I am a little nervous & wish the Cubs would just finish off these Marlins - they just can't let them hang around & push it to a Game 7...that being said - I see no other play than what has worked for me during the entire MLB post season - i am up +53.96 units for the playoffs w/ a 13W-6L record - and my big unit plays when Prior & Wood have pitched have made the difference...this is a trend I am not backing off of - I will be playing the Cubs tomorrow - maybe on the RL again - as i think they will win by more than 1 run tomorrow to finish the deal...Prior will pitch a Gem and get this team to the World Series - i wouldn't want anyone else pitching for my team than Prior or Wood right now...so i think you are better off laying the -135 on the Cubs RL - as I think they get it done tomorrow...Prior is like 12-1 in his last 13 starts & is dominant - I expect that to continue tomorrow...hope this helps but good luck w/ whatever you decide to play! Go Cubs!

How's it going Bobby. Just got back from Chicago, 4 day trip to get my son married off. Unbelievable weather!

Was sweating my ass off shopping for the grandchildren downtown Saturday.

Bobby, the game is over priced, no one can argue that fact. If you find some value in the Marlins, I'd play it this way, using Pinnacle lines as an example:

FLO +1.5 +113 2 units
FLO +232 3/4 unit
FLO Alternate runline -- -1.5 +350 1/4 unit

If a total of 3 units is to much, just scale back the above example.

Personally, I like the runline in a game that is already juiced to the under 8, depending on the fickle weather there tomorrow night.

gl! Bobby!

I'm going to assume that you know alot more about Pedro and his status than I do since I don't follow non-White Sox teams all that closely. He's just not the same pitcher he was 2 years ago and I think that the Yankees have some much better alternatives out of the pen than the Red Sox. But mostly, . . .

Good things happen to some franchises and bad things happen to others. Certainly not enough reason to keep someone of the Red Sox who's already capped the game.

Bobby-

Should be a great game...ESPN classic material to say the least.

I just think it'll be tough to beat Pete twice in a week. Last night should give the Boston bats some momentum. As long as they don't run into Rivera they should be ok.

Good Luck.
