PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES +115 - Schilling may be the more highly publicized of tonight's starters, but a case can be made that Myers is having the better year so far. This possible future Cy Young Award winner is 3-2 with an outstanding 2.20 ERA to go with a fine 1.29 ratio in 45 innings. He has now posted 5 consecutive Quality Starts, and he has 6 Quality Starts out of 7 total starts this season. He should be tough on an Arizona team that has never faced him before. Schilling looked like his vintage self last time out, tossing the Complete Game 4-hit Shutout. However, that was vs. the light-hitting Pirates, and he is now facing a Phillies team that is averaging 5.10 runs per game at home. By comparison, the Diamondbacks are only averaging 3.42 runs per game on the road. Also, Schilling didn't exactly fool the Philadelphia hitters the last time he faced them, allowing 4 earned runs and 10 hits in 8 innings. You will not get Myers as a home underdog for very much longer, so I will jump on what I feel is a nice value play.
