It don't bother me at all. What bothers me is when u try to be the gate keeper on the site and tell people where to post certain stuff. Throw a huge hiffy fit about it and then of course do the same exact thing. There is a word for it but i have typed it so many times that im wearing those letters out on my keyboard.

Atheist so far, but I'm willing to change my mind, and will do so just as soon as God, Allah, Thor, Zeus or any other deity performs a miracle.

Healing an amputee would be a good one.

WTF is an "ATHIEST"?

Too bad your not bright enough to know the difference between believing and hoping. I'm sure a lot of non-believers "hope" they get to move on to fairyland when their life is over, they just don't "believe" it is going to happen.

GL with your play, I'm on the other side.

Is that YOUR or YOU'RE?

i have no more power than any other swinging dick that posts here...

i believe i took issue with you one time in off the wall(a GAMBLING forum) in an mma thread when you tried to turn an mma/gambling discussion into a political diatribe....if you want to obsess on that, then knock yourself out...

you`re in the wrong thread...this is about religion/atheism...not dunderhead-ism...

this isn`t "stalkbook"...it`s the "general forum"...

Where it is real F ing COLD
it all depends on how you`re indoctrinated...

i bet if you did an age breakdown, that most of the staunch atheists are under 40...and most "believers" or "casual believers" or ambivalents tend to be over 35.....suppositionon my part...from my personal observation.....it`s a bit more "cool" nowadays to be atheist...very square to be considered a believer....

obviously there are exceptions to every rule, but i`d bet that most of the younger crowd are the most staunch atheists...and are liberal politically...cause that`s what they were taught in "college" by their ex-hippie professors that didn`t much care for any life style restraints or inhibitions....which belief in religion requires...

and most "believers" or "on the fencers" are a little older and more conservative....tight asses...lol

if you were taught from your youth that seeing a nose in public is verboten,we`d all be walking around with some sort of nose covering and it would be accepted as normal...

it all depends on how young they get you and how you`re indoctrinated...we`re all lemmings to some extent....molded by our life`s experience...

btw,i`m a middle of the roader....i say live and let live...if you choose to believe, that`s fine...if you don`t,that`s fine,too...as long as you aren`t trying to blow me up or cut my head off for believing or not believing....a little "soft" religious or "non-religious" tyranny i can stomach....it`s human nature to try and proselytise others to one`s point of view one way or another...that`s human nature.....but,not to the extreme...

True I might be more liberal but no "hippie college professor" taught me to be this way. Nursing schools and founders of nursing had strong religious beliefs. I just can't believe in it because it doesn't make any sense to me. My family believes in it but I guess I am the black sheep. I was told Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny were real at one time too. I think religion was made up by man to control people. People can believe what they want to believe but I am not going to believe something because people told me so. The thought of it seems laughable to me especially when science in many ways disproves many religious theories.

I would like to see these so called ATHIESTS on their DEATH BEDS, somehow we might see some second guessing.

JMHO

:scared

As someone who has cared for many on their DEATH BEDS the OPPOSITE has been true. Religious people have often second guessed their religious beliefs. Questioning if there was a God, why would he make people suffer? Not saying that Atheists don't either just have not cared for many people who are openly atheist. Spirituality or lack of it is usually a concern for anyone on their death bed..

People have believed what they were taught. Religion was more important to people when I was a kid. At least that is what I think. I would have to believe that less percentage of the population practice religion but I will admit I am not going to look this up. Just a belief. Atheism was more taboo years ago, I remember everyone thinking my aunt and uncle were "nuts" because they were atheist. Now I am too and it has become more acceptable.

I don't care what you believe, just don't preach to me and I won't preach to you.

I was raised catholic, but have never been made aware of the existence of any deities. When deities show themselves to me, I will probably change my stance. Til then, :sadwave: That said, atheists who feel they are superior to believers annoy me to no end.

If god or allah appear to me, my first question will be about their discrimination against homosexuals. I never understood how these all-loving deities would support this type of inequality. JMO.
