the ball wasn't intended for him. he reached in front of the guy to his left who had a glove who was going to catch it.
Couldn't agree more, Sley. I'm not sure when the thrill of getting a ball at a game left me. Probably over 40 years ago. Really what's the big deal  Even less of an accomplishment once the players did start throwing them in the stands.
Yep.. He reached way out over his son and over a guy whom the ball was thrown right to.. Plus he had on sandles. He had zero traction at all. Recipe for disaster.
Its been on the radio all day here locally in Dallas. You guys might find it interesting that originally they thought the guy was fine. He was talking and moving his arms. They were taking him to the hospital to treat a broken arm when he suffered a massive heart attack. We wont know what really went wrong until post mortem exam
Sad sad sad day for that poor kid... And Hamilton is especially broken up. Hes a guy who is walks such a thin line of sobriety... Got to wonder if this will push him over the ledge
Tragic
Go to a game with a kid and you'll see that it doesn't matter where the ball came from. I took my son to the Ranger's minor league team in Frisco, one of the players threw him a ball as they where leaving the field and entering the dugout. It was two years ago, he still has the ball and still tells all of his friends the story. Baseball has a hard enough time drawing in the youth but this tradition is one of those things that makes it hard. It's the ONE thing that separates baseball from other sports.

Great input.
Can you spell out what you are really trying to say?
This act of reaching on front of another fan, is justifiably punishable by death.
:0008 Thanks for explaining this fucking idiotic post.

"the ball wasn't intended for him. he reached in front of the guy to his left who had a glove who was going to catch it."
you really extrapolated your response from this post?.....that nickcage thought the guy deserved "to die" for reaching over to snag a ball that might not have been intended for him?....i kinda thought he was just providing more info...some context.....feel like the guy is taking more heat for his post than he deserves...
but that`s just me....
carry on...:0074
me too garden, thats exactly how i interpreted it
he was pointing out that it was even more of a tragic accident b/c it wasn't even meant for him
