That being said most of these escalated scenarios stem from a person committing a crime and then resisting arrest or flat out just not complying with what the officer is asking them to do. Why is that o.k.? Cops have the right to do there job
Hey BGC, (love your NFL selections by the way). I dunno man, did you watch the video interaction between Rayshard Brooks and the cops before they killed him? He was in a parking lot, no threat. He was reasonable throughout this interaction. He was respectful and agreed to search, sobriety tests, breathalyzer. He said he could walk over to his sister's house and sleep it off.
They shot him in the back three times. Talk about a lack of empathy. I don't care what color you are, that is not "serving or protecting". And the cop had to win the game, take him down hard. It's so crooked and inconsistent, what they do.
I think we need a triangle of power to deal with the cops. You can have your union, but balance it out with a citizens advisory council or something. They can review cops with questionable ethics in the field along with the local chief. Maybe this could help filter out some of the bad cops and put them behind a desk or something.
