I cleaned about 30 jalapenos about 6 hours ago.

Since then I have caught my eyes on fire, my dick on fire and my nose on fire. Christ!

The eye is pretty bad right now.

What have you got planned for those peppers? BGE time?
No, the wife has her own plan. The only BGE action tomorrow is the final leg for her wings that she insists getting started her way in the kitchen. She's in charge for Christmas which is fine with me.

Big day here tomorrow, looking forward to it. :toast:

I REALLY need to get a BGE. Just too tough to smoke here in the winter. I just picked up two 5 pound standing rib roasts that would be perfect on the BGE.

From Google:

I've never tried it but I'm told the best way is to rinse them with Dawn dishwashing liquid & then rinse with cold water. Dawn dishwashing liquid contains grease and oil cutting compounds, warm or hot water may kick up the burning feel of the oil.

Other advice from this site http://www.jalapenomadness.com/jalapeno_faq.html says
Try rubbing alcohol first to remove the burning oil. Then, soak the skin in milk or another dairy product. Only use water or saline for your eyes, however, and please remember that the best way to combat the chile pepper heat is to use rubber gloves when handling peppers.

Also, this was suggested by a poison control center for those times you do not have a dairy product on hand: Wash the skin with warm, soapy water. Rub the skin with vegetable or olive oil and let set a minute. Rinse.

rub your hands with olive oil, wait a few minutes, wash your hands with soap/dish soap with lemon.

some use alcohol but didn't work for me, i rather drink it. some say really cold water and steel spoon does the trick (google that) didn't work for me either.

and oh, don't rub your eyes or dick before your hands are clean :0008

i have face mask and rubber dish gloves when i handle chili, it's just easier that way :mj07:
