Hope so, Hogman was the first member that I knew of around here; don't know why he lost interest in the ponies. Hammy is more of a West Coast specialist methinks.

OK, finally caught a wiener in yesterday's finale, bettors knocked down that one's odds from 10 to 1, when I bet him, down to 5 to 1, it's closing odds. I played both picks, nos. 3 and 12, to win kinda heavy; well, kinda heavy for a lightweight like me. How bout the trifectas I played....

See that no. 5 bastage that I had in the Show spot that went off at 50+ to 1? Sonahmabeech, Grrr!.
Sure woulda been nice if he woulda ran a bit more like a 55/1 shot and got the Show instead. The trifecta woulda paid less than the $959.40 ( ON A STINKIN 50 CENT TICKET } that it did pay. Hell, i still would have had a big smile at the cashier's window. Race was profitable due to the Win bets I made on the no. 3 and 12.

I told Mrs. Jimboski that I will be hitting one them 4 figure trifectas soon again.
Stick around and let's see if there's another tornado over Philly Park today. I'll try to get to post something for today.

Time for a LITTLE philosophy, ANYbody?

Time for a LITTLE philosophy, ANYbody?

I won't be sharing with the MJ Peepers that I don't know from Adam what it took me 50 years to figure out this tough game AND no matter what you know - you better have some LUCK on your side as well. But, I think sharing some thoughts to fellow horseplayers who are "my kinda peoples" is a nice thing to do. I used to be a horse-ah-holick.. NO MORE. I can stop at any time, did so for years multiple times throughout the years with no problem. Couldn't do that during the first 20 or so, YIKES! I made PLENTY of progress the past 5 years; may have made up years and years of LOSING... oh, and enjoyed (note the "ed") every moment of it too. LOL.

BETTING
Just know that IF you know that you finally reached a stage where you believe you can beat this game - do it SLOWLY as in "keep them bets small". IF you're right, don't fret cause -->YOU WILL BE A WIENER!:) AND, if you're mistaken (much more probable) it won't hurt much. Figure out what works FOR YOU.

"Frimstance"...

In that second race, here's how I betem...
2,7 top/bot. 6,9 AND , side insurance.. nos. 6 and 9 to WIN. Thanks to the odds on the no. 9, it worked out just fine and profitable and I avoided the loss on the zactas that could have made the race much more profitable. Not writing that this method works for anybody, just that you gotta find what works for you and it could take YEARS. In fact, you gotta do plenty of homework BEFORE this step; like - what waces to play and WHAT TYPE OF BET IS RIGHT FOR THE RACE IN QUESTION. Oh, and even more impotent :))) one other "BTW"... figure out what ONE WACE TWACK works for you.

I'll continue with the sermon, but for now... I got the 5th figured our I THINK...
BTW, I ONLY PLAY ONE TWACK (with very few exceptions . like BIG races and NEVER, NEVER, EVER play the CLONES IN THE BREEDERS CUP RACES. Thems only for the RICH KINGS who can afford to lose and are privileged enough to thoroughly enjoy this sport/game.

5th race: no. 2 hoss is the key methinks. check out the 1,6 and the 8 in the paddock/post parade if you like exotic betting..

edited: see that no. 7 in this race? The connections on that one (jock, trnr, owner) are about a BAD as it gets. BUT, that IS a good hossa and belongs in this race. Soo... what do you do in that case?

Hmm, I dunno? :00011

The second reason I stopped posting...

The second reason I stopped posting...

Man, time really flies when you're in a "blah, blah, blah" mode when posting. I hit the submit button and rushed like hell to get the bets in cause they were a quarter of the way of loading them, UGH! Unfortunately, i got the bets in just in time.

tri: 2/467/all losah
exacta: 4,6,7 over no. 2 losah

Too bad I didn't know what to do with that dang 14 to 1 no. 7 hoss. Fluck!
No. 2 ran VERY well but just completely ran out of gas in the deep stratch run.

I'll be jumping ahead races now cause I'm falling behind.

edited: Looks like the 7th is playable, working on that one now.

Same ole, same ole

Same ole, same ole

Bet too much using no. 5 in exactas, recouped MOST, not all, with the no. 6 winnah. One of my exactas was a 6,8 box, UGH! Those near misses happen a lot though. This track is USUALLY all about finding the right pricey hosses. You can really clean up on days you SOMEHOW find them. Last year Philly had a few long stretches of "Favoritis" and believe me that costed me.

As usual, the peepers or visitors that won't sign up I(EVEN IF IT DOESN'T CAST A CENT) may be presont and prob. just want to see the plicks and not play along with their own plays or follew mine. If so, i gotta see them before I bet and there's very little time to post... only way to actually play something is to be ONLINE and ready to bet real quick like. Seeing them on the track is pretty important, that no. 1 in the 7th WAS a very good one to play but not anymore and seeing it before the race told me to avoid that one.

Hi Jimbo,
Good to know that you are still around and finding lucrative opportunites at the Parx. Those insurance bets sure helps minimize the risk.

OK JIM old timer really great at capping the ponies Trotters also

these are handicapping solid facts that i use were you can quickly eliminate half the field.

#1. THE Winningest post positions at every track in the woreld are the 2-4-6-&7

#2, never bet on A HORSE THAT WAS OUT OF ACTION A MONTH OR MORE AFTER A WIN.

#3. POWER rate horses like this using a calculator and at least 6 races this year

Divide number of races into Money won EX: horse won $6500 ran 8 races earns $812 per race

now go down last 6 races give horse 300 for each win 100 for each 2nd 50 for each 3rd

this horse had 2 places and no thing else add 200 horse is contender $1012 circle him or her

#4. NOW look at horses finish lenghths from fibal qutaer to finish line was horse going back wards like - lenghths as this 1 lenght behind then 5 lenghts back at finish that is not good mark horse -4

you want a horse with a plus meaning he has heart finishes races gaining.

#5. Biggest killer at all tracks is winds that blow --.> high winds 10 mph + means your front runners will be sucking wind early stages and are chopped hamburger at final turn and stretch trotters and flats.

#6. fuck WHAT THE ODDS SAY THAT PUBLIC PERCEPTION OF WHAT THE TRACK ANALYST SAY AND SOME ALL IN ON A WEAK CHALK i have seen many 2/5 8/5 9/5 1-5 run up the track out of the money

and my 7-1 i capped strongly win by wide margins.

#7. YOU do not have to win the race to WIN $$$

One time i bet the chalk a solid horse paying 4/5 for $20 to win

HE won by 3 lenghts BUT i fucking screamed not going for the longest shot on board 35 -1 who ran solid second and Paid a whopping $19 to place and $8.70 to show :mj1:
I could have bet $5 to W P S on the bomb and have won $69.25 $54.25 NET instead of a paltry $36 $16 net

The Exacta was huge nobody pout that horse second it paid a whopping $42 3rd place3 horse was another bomb 15 - 1 your tri was nice over $1000

#.8 Speed is matter of all factors being in place know what class horses are racing and conditions shown in the DRF

YOUR regular claimers YOU want back in action within 2 weeks max 3 weeks Horses must be raced into condition

Trotters different 7 days to max 14 days I mostly play trots cause thats what is going on late nights 7 pm EST THE Low priced Book is enough $4.50 - $5

I always bet within my bank if i start with $100 per race bet is Max $10 or $6 if betting WPS on longshots

SOME tracks tho run 14 races so i can pass up many that are just ugly maidien races.

#.9 NEVER listen to your buddy with you

Many years ago i asked one about a horse who ran top maiden races at NY tracks coming into philly park low cheap claimers all losers IM Bulked with $300 bank

HE says nah that horse hasnt done anything special ......

SO i ponder but odds on this horse are 5-1 so he's a possible ML was way higher 15-1 this horse was contending in last 3 races finsihed solid 2nd place last a 4th and a 3rd

I said fuck it to my friend Ran to window went for $20 to win and watched this horse destroy weak claimers by 5 lenghths

HUNCH bets work also got many huge winners from horses names Had to do with something that happened or was connected to me

LILKE really through out all the capping stuff when this shit happens

ONE time way back in 90's Austrailia Tracks horse name Brown Eyed Girl everyone at track was on this horse at 3-1 i semi liked her Friend says yo bill everyone like this horse what you think

I'm thinking yes but liked other horse better.

BUT knowing this horses name was a song That i had in record collection i said fuck it I know that song i have the 45 in my collection from DJ days.

WE both bet the horse to win in a large 14 horse field and she won Clear by 2 lenghts :0008

Another horse i played and won was called CAN DO that song from movie Let it Ride

Biggest surprise ever was Burnt biscuit in a filed of horses all beaten by 10 - 35 lenghths the favorite beaten 10 lenghths was 4-1 I mean i couldnt put a number on any horse so thinking of sea biscuit and my mom burnt the biscuits at dinner trhat night! So i go and play this also ran $2 WPS at odds of 65-1

and fugging laughed all the way back to window teller says thats how girls pick horses :mj07:

I told him how i came up with this horse he laughed too.

That was just being in right place at right time .

Also each race has only 4 contenders DO your capping e3very race is differnt it could be a horse dropping in class , a sprinter stretching out to mile , close in top allowance races dropping to Clamiers like only beaten 6 lenghts.

BUT all races need to capped same way when you lose on a horse you passed on go back see what it was.

Could be as simple as TOP jockey made horse win with his best Trainer

YOU should win 4 or more races out of each 10 hoping to get decent odds 2-1 - whatever however some nights i get all low priced horses every race it seems and just have to stick with winners 8-5 9-5 4-5 3-5 every race

Great to seeya dropping in, Hammy

Great to seeya dropping in, Hammy

Hi Jimbo,
Good to know that you are still around and finding lucrative opportunites at the Parx. Those insurance bets sure helps minimize the risk.

7th: 5-6-8; VERY hard to get past the fav.

I meant to just post something before Monday's card that pretty much said ONLY that

9/13 I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PARAGRAPH THAT'S SPOUSTA BE HERE??? BUT, HERE IT IS AGAIN...

Monday's card is NOT playable. Didn't watch anything, but I did go through the though-rough analysis of TWO races thought would be. One had BOTH fovorites that looked two good and the other had too many horses that were unfamiliar to me and found it to be too tough to come up with one that could boost an exacta.

Looks like we're on the same wave length, Hammy cause one of those races was the 7th :).

I didn't get to see the results for that race.. GONNA CHECK IT OUT RIGHT NOW '\ ..:mj23:.

OK, 5-8-7 and an exacta which I definitely woulda had if I played that race and even more definitely... I wouldn't have played it with all the scwatches. :( . I get the plicks this way -> 50% heavy duty no. crunching/important factors, 30% my own opinion mostly from watching all the races I PLAY, and LUCK 30% which is sometimes 100% which has gone my way recently. I'm waiting for that to happen while I'm posting again, I don't believe for long. I c I came within a neck of getting a Whopper the other day even though I didn't post the nos. I played, MAN, that woulda been a BIGUN :0034 Broke my record for biggest DAT recently and I'm pretty sure what payoff woulda been an other record for me; I actually thought about putting that no. 5 in the place spot.

GONGRATS FOR NAILING THAT TUFF RACE, HAMMY! :mj23:

Plicks start with 4th race today; I'll be right back after TRYING to save this post. Good to see you're off to a good start. Hope all is well.

"OLDtimer", Jimbo (I gotta challenge that guy to a tennis match:00x12 )
