Comments, Joker?

Bucs, that picture that Scott posted is a type of cystoscope, and he's posting horror type stories, but unfortunately, that stuff is true. I've never had to experience it, thank goodness, but imagine shoving something the size of a marble through a straw, and u get an idea. Hope u can do without that. He's right about them also doing that a lot as in-office procedure, and it's brutal!!

Bucs, hope u get to feeling better. The tamusolin (Flomax) is to help you pee. Cephelaxin is for an infection (usually for simple skin infections, but many bacteria are resistant to it now. Rarely if ever see it used for bladder/kidney infections, so idk on that one). Lortab/Percocet for pain, and they probably gave u Promethazine/Phenergan for nausea.

I've had one kidney stone, and I never want another. When I finally passed it, I looked down and was a little dissappointed it was that small. I was like, WTF!!?? That little thing hurt that bad?? Really?? WOW! Mine looked like a miniature cocklebur.

Just got home from the ER. They hooked me up to the IV to hydrate me and give me 2 doses of nausea meds. The doctor said the stone is about 4mm and it's close to passing and he thinks that the stone is what's making me nauseous. Gave me a script for vicodin and nausea meds instead of percocet in case the percocet was making me sick.

Bought another gallon of Water and OJ, gonna hope this helps.

Not that I have any actual knowledge on the subject, but I would only drink water. Drinking acidic oj might hurt your soon to be sensitive urethra.

I originally thought the same thing. Did some researching and asked the DOC. Seeing as stones are formed via calcium build up and dehydration, lots believe you should avoid milk, but you should drink 1-2 glasses of milk a day and vitamin C says the doc. Also 1-2 glasses of orange juice are good because of the citrates and it's supposed to help prevent further stones.

1. Drink Water

Drink lots of water. Actually because of lack of water only, kidney stones start formatting in your body. So the best way to prevent and cure kidney stone is to drink sufficient water everyday. Water will flush your body and keep the stone forming calcium away from your body.

2. Phosphoric Acid

Phosphoric acid can dissolve kidney stones. You can use natural source of phosphoric acid like lemons, oranges, and vinegar to dissolve the kidney stones. Use these items in your food and you can see the results within a few days.

3. Water-Soluble Fibers

Water -soluble fibers will expedite the process of removing kidney stones from your body. These fibers work as a natural laxative. You will get water-soluble fibers in fruits and vegetables. Some of them such as asparagus, watermelons, and broccoli have higher water-soluble fibers.

So make a habit of eating fruits and vegetable daily in your food. It will surely help you to cure the existing kidney stones as well as prevent you from future kidney stone problems.

That was information that was on paperwork given from the ER/DOC.

Tearing my ACL/MCL was painful and sucked. With the pain meds I was good, and just limping around until surgery sucked. Kidney stone pain is much more throbbing and long lasting. UNREAL

I just had a stone too large to pass removed and had the stint and removal. I have to say it did not hurt coming out. I was awake for it. She put a drop of something on the tip to numb it and then the doctor came in. At another time he also checked the inside of my bladder for cancer. This was amazing. Saw it all on the monitor. While looking in the bladder he saw a stone and I watched him pick it up and take it out. He had the camera and the tool to pluck the stone all up there at the same time!
On the pain meds, when I had the stint in it was causeing me some pain and the percs and stuff wasn't helping with the pain. He suggested one Advil. He said that studies showed that the low dose was better than the high dosages when iut comes to stones.
