For the life of me I can't understand how 2 men or 2 women marrying affects anyone else's life. Life is too short to fret over Patrick Fitzhenry marrying Henry Fitzpatrick. As conservatives we want freedom and a less intrusive government so this "should" only makes sense.

So, PRO, just so we're clear about this... you think every existing federal law should be left alone and upheld? Every ruling and position by the federal government is valid and acceptable to you, and no man or woman should challenge any of them? Throughout history, every existing law should have been unchanged or unchallenged from the point it became law, no matter who sponsored it, how it was passed, and there should never be a review of it, no matter where we go as a society or culture?
Just so I know. If you agree with that - as you seem to suggest about "picking and choosing," that's fine. Perhaps then, we can examine some other existing laws, or some that were changed throughout history, and take your temperature on those.

I work in the medical field and have consulted with many or they have consulted with me. Some are normal but many are bizarre. Had two different psych teachers in college and let me tell you they weren't normal.
I don't need to change the way I feel. I think we all think we are right when it comes to our opinions. I want to live in a world without racism and YOU don't.

as for polygamy, if a guy and girls want to deal with the extra headaches, i say so be it
its probably not law b/c its less common and outside of a specific populations , it hasn't sparked enough interest..if the law is able to account for what happens in polygamous marriage situations in terms of divorce , inheritance, benefits, etc, then i have no problem with it
incest, yes i think its gross but that should not preclude it from being legal...birthing issues and recessive gene expression is a problem with that..but that is a very interesting point with many counterarguments that has got me thinking
