Where it is real F ing COLD
What a weekend that was.. Milller Park Friday and Saturday vs. the Cubs and then Sunday at US Cellular to watch my Twins suck and then back 30 minutes before opening pitch for Milwaukee/Cubs game Sunday Night.. Now home near Superior. Up at 5 am.. I didn't have to drive today, but I did all the other driving..

WRIGLEY FIELD-- Never been to Chicago before so we left early Sunday to check out the area. What a location... TV does not do the area around the field justice. How surreal? You guys that live by there must be in heaven.. What a great place? Now All I want to do is go to a game there. I was impressed about how easy it was to find the stadium off the highway.. I bet it is nuts there before and after games..

US CELLULAR-- The south side. Somehow didn't feel as safe outside the ball park as up North. Next time we will find a closer parking spot next to the stadium, but we were newbies.. Once in the stadium it was great. The people were friendly, not one person ripped on me for wearing my Twins gear, probably because I had nothing to cheer about, but we were in the stadium 2 hours before game start and it was all great. The atmosphere was much different than I expected. They really know how to cheer and nobody that I saw was obnoxiously drunk or acting like a jack ass compared to Milwaukee. Thank God we sat in the area where the sun was shining or we would of froze our asses off. The Super Comiskey Dog is a must if you go there. The ride out of there back to Milwaukee was very slow as expected. I - 94 Sucked..

MILLER PARK- I love going there to watch games. I root for the Brewers most times, but didn't on Saturday and Sunday because my cash was on the Cubbies. I love the atmosphere there but the people get so drunk and belligerent towards each other. Wouldn't want to take kids under 13 to that and BREWER fans love to bitch about how many Cub fans are there. Well don't sell them your seats is all that can be said about that.. The TAILGATING is the best part about Milwaukee and we generally line up a good 4 hours before game start.

It was great, One more comment about the trip.. The way the Cub and Brewer fans act, you would think that their teams were always in the hunt for the title year after year. Come on, your teams have sucked for many years.. Well the Cubs have been getting better and have choked but the Brewers first playoff appearance since hell froze over was last year and they talk about how all these teams suck. "The Twins Suck" "The Cubs Suck" "the Cardinals Suck" "The Whitesox Suck" No wunder why they sell so many brews at the game.

:nono: As a Brewers fan living in milwaukee I must comment on your last post. If you chose to generalize the fans then yes this is the impression you will get. A winning team is something that is very new in this city. Many of the fans in milwaukee are just becoming acquainted to the game for the first time. They are still learning about the brewers, much less the other teams in the midwest. They simply know they like the brewers, and should dislike everyone else in the division. I like the Twins organization, and the White Sox fans are the classiest in all of chicago.

I have also noticed that the negativity comes out mainly when the cubs are in town. This is attributed to the stereotypical arrogant chicago fans that make the trip up here. I'm a very laid back individual and it always seems like visiting fans intentions are to push my buttons after every game. They usually come off as thinking they are better than us for whatever reason, probably because they are from a much larger city and support a team with much more history.

One final thought. You'll never find the milwaukee fans throwing trash on their own field at the opposing outfielder like cubs fans did at wrigley last year when braun was in left. We head out to the ballpark to drink and have a great time, we might boo, but we don't take it too far.

I understand what you say, but every fan base is "generalized" and "impressioned." Just like the Twins, "bandwagon jumpers" that only go to games when the team is "winning." I was at all 3 games and the Crew won the first one and the fans that I saw were just as bad as the Cubbie fans at the end of Sat/Sun games when they won. I guess I didn't mean it as all the fans were like that but many were. I usually get the preferred parking when I go and it's much more tame there than general parking.. I go to about 10 games a year and some of those fans are way too drunk and obnoxious even at games other than the Cubbies.
