financial well being is an important part of a committment. maybe she does love you, but does not want to be a burden financially to you and herself if she does not get a job...:shrug:

I really think this is something you need to talk to her about. If you were thinking marriage I would not just move on as suggested.
What are your ages? If you are guys are in your 30s she might be less inclined to just get up and leave. I am sure there are going to be some hesitancies because a Northern Gal or any Northern Person may have a hard time moving. Is she a small town Northern girl moving to Southern Big city, or is she a Big city northern girl moving to Hickviille, Alabama.
If she is currently looking for a position where you are then I would say that is a good sign. If she is not looking then that is a good sign that she really doesn't want to do this.

And I don't agree with if she loved you she would be there or this and that. That is for the old timers, times are changing and I sure she wants to have a position in place to be financially ok if the relationship should fail. I am sure she is thinking to herself, "what if I really hate it there." I figure she is teaching right now and has to at least finish up the rest of the year.
Plus you want her to find a position first. She will be in a new area, without a job just sitting there waiting for you to get home from work. Maybe she feels that she will get bored without work. She will not feel easy about this and you are going to be the person to entertain and talk about your day as she will have nothing she will want to talk about. Just saying that I bet she is stressed by the situation.

We did a 16 hour difference. But not for long. She couldn't resist me and moved. Just sayin!:00hour
