I refuse to ask middle class families to give up their deductions for owning a home or raising their kids just to pay for another millionaire's tax cut. I refuse to ask students to pay more for college; or kick children out of Head Start programs, or eliminate health insurance for millions of Americans who are poor, elderly, or disabled ? all so those with the most can pay less.

He always says the right things but they never happen. He claims to be a champion of the middle class but middle class income is way down across the country. I know cause I am living it every day! My income is way down from a few years ago.

I fell for the hope and change four years ago but not this time. And enough of blaming Bush. He said himself that the buck stops with him. If he didnt turn around the economy he would be a one term president. I am holding him to that.

Saw this headline this morning.

Just 96K jobs: Fed may be forced to act

Jobs growth slowed sharply in August, setting the stage for the Federal Reserve to pump additional money into the sluggish economy next week and dealing a blow to President Obama as he seeks reelection in November.

How phucking long does this guy need??

Things are getting better?

For who? The banks?

Average median income DOWN
Consumer inflation UP
Gas Prices UP
Average wage DOWN
Utility cost UP
Unemployment rate UP
# of people in the workforce DOWN
(and least # in 31 years)
# of people on foodstamps UP
# of people receiving govt assistance UP
National Debt UP
Afghanistan Casualties UP
Avg Home Value DOWN

So, really - this is better? REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!?

I guess the stock market is UP as well.....so I ask this question, if this economy is BOOSHES fault, is the stock market making new highs also BOOSHES fault as well?

The complete and utter ignorance of the American people is astonishing.

Adding this quote from an article on Zerohedge:
Today's reported unemployment rate: 8.1%. The reason: the labor "participation" dropped to a 31 year low 63.5% as reported earlier. Of course, this number is pure propaganda, and makes no sense for one simple reason: despite the economic collapse started in December 2007, the US civilian non-institutional population since then has grown by 186,000 people every month on average hitting an all time high of 243,566,000 in August. These people need a job, and the traditional shorthand is that at least 100,000 jobs have the be generated every month for the unemployment rate to merely stay flat, let along improve. So what does one get when one uses the long-term average of the past 30 or so years which happens to be 65.8%? One gets an unemployment number that is 45% higher than the reported 8.1%, or 11.7%. That is what the real unemployment rate is assuming the US labor participation rate was realistic and not manipulated by the BLS cronies and the Bank of Spain assisted Arima-X-13 seasonal adjustment models. It also means that, as the chart below shows, the spread between the real and propaganda data hit an all time record, which was to be expected two months ahead of America's banker muppet presidential election.

He had both houses of congress, so he went for Obamacare, NOT JOBS!!!!!

:0074

He did fuck up health care by caring what the GOP wanted. He should have told them to stick it up their ass. He gave people something they have wanted for years. Universal health care.

very short memory - in regards to what?

Seriously.

Take a look from Bush's term to now. It's all there in black and white.

You are doing yourself a disservice.

Vote Gary Johnson 2012

He didn't give us anything that he created himself. The government is a representation of our collective wealth (or at least the share that accumulates via taxes). Any government program just represents one way of spending our money.

The reason I am not for large government isn't so rich people can take advantage of the system, but so that one "person" or one team of people isn't responsible for the economy of the United States. The larger the role of government takes in shaping the economy the more important it is to have PERFECT economic policy and smart and honest leaders. The problem is of course is obvious. Politicians are rarely honest or effective leaders and government policy is more convoluted than ever.

I just can't believe that more and more laws that are thousands of pages long and seem to get written just to keep politicians and their friends employed is a smart way to structure a healthy country.

I know this country is a large and complex place and I truly believe that the best way to dig us out of this mess is to create a fair system where the collective ingenuity and hard work of the American people can shine.
Create simple but tough rules that gives no one person or corporation and advantage over another, and you will really see things shine.

That's why I lean towards candidates like Gary Johnson. Because they don't NEED to be very good politicians to help this country.

He gave it to us because for years the middle class and poor have been spit on. Their tax money has been used by the elites for years. You can toy around with the words however you want but the way the system works is the middle class is taxed and the rich decide what to do with those funds. Right or wrong that is the system we have now.

I know that's the Catch Phrase but wasn't the Democrats in CONTROL of the House and Senate from 2007 til 2010?

Isn't the Senate still controlled by the Democrats?

Wasn't Barack Obama and Joe Biden in the Senate in 2008?
