Got home too late Saturday to post, but played the usual strategy during the finals, and that was taking the team [N.J.] getting 1.5 goals, and Under 5, so went 1-1. This worked for the first 6 games, so overall did quite well for the series.

In my opinion, and there were some good debates on the forum about these teams. No doubt, the two best teams made the finals, and were very well matched. This series could have gone either way.

The main difference was in Roy outplaying Brodeur a bit in goal, and the penalty killing for Colorado. New Jersey only scored 11 goals for the series !!

ONE OF THE BEST moments in sport is the post-game traditions after the Stanley Cup finals. You could see in their faces that the Devils wanted to get off the ice after the game, but remained, as is the traditon, to do the skate by and congratulate the Avs. You dont see this in any other sporting event. And the fact that the players get to carry the trophy and skate around in unique, and thrilling and chilling.
We all were hoping and waiting for Ray Bourque to get his chance with the cup...and when he did you could almost see a great weight had been lifted by the Hockey gods.

Finally, I want to say I have really enjoyed this forum during the year. Hockey fans, as well as the players they root for, are a unique bunch, no doubt. And that fact has been made abundently clear in the various posts from all over the world [yes - that includes Canada, T.V.

Mad Jack and fellow Mad Jackers - thanks for the great forum...for the sharing of ideas and thoughts...and for the class this forum has when compared to some others. And now - how about some Australian rules football to fill the gap till next season?
