Well, after shooting 23% in the first half and being down 17 with 15 minutes left, the Wildcats bested a game St. John?s team by a point thanks to Slater?s two free throws with 2 seconds to go. Now they get to play UCONN at 9:00 ET at MSG who went wire to wire against Seton Hall. The line tonight: Nova-2.5/131. They split the regular season games with both holding court at home. Coach Hurley complained about too many foul whistles against his team at Nova. Coach Wright complained about two ridiculous calls in the final 30 seconds at UCONN. This may be the last they see of each other this season, but depending on matchups in the NCAA both have the talent to get to the Final Four. We shall see. As evidenced by everyone in the top 10 getting beat in the last few weeks, it?s anyone?s Tournament.
Tonight, some say Nova may be spent after an emotional comeback. Not sure I buy into that. UCONN DID look awesome defensively last night. In the end, it?s Cole, Sanogo and Martin vs. Gillespie, Moore and Dixon. We shall see who wants it the most.
What Will Happen: This game will be intense. Nova will try to get Sanogo in foul trouble. UCONN will defend the perimeter to limit Nova?s 3 point shooting. UCONN, as in the last game vs Nova, will feed Sanogo every chance they get. Nova will win this game.
