The Wildcats play their final home game tonight at 6:30 pm vs the 9th ranked Providence Friars. The line is Nova-9.5/134.5.
These two clubs played 13 days ago with Villanova besting the Friars 89-84 in Providence. Since then, The Friars have played 3 OT games plus the clincher vs Creighton to win their first ever Big East title. Nova has been off for a week which should bode well for Gillespie?s injured ankle. Tonight, it?s Nova?s final home game but they honored their Seniors at their previous home game as students are now on spring break. Nonetheless, the Finn will be sold out and rocking tonight.
What Will Happen: this a big game for the Cats as it would secure them a bye in the Big East Tournament. These are two good defensive clubs who played an uncharacteristically high scoring game vs each other last time. I expect this to be a low scoring game. And, there should be no change in game plans either. For Providence: feed Watson inside. For Nova: post up and kick out if there is no shot. However, I do expect Nova to be more jacked up then Providence which should lead to a better defensive effort.
