I know it's possible to subscribe to threads, but is it possible to subscribe to a specific poster/username? ... Maybe get an alert of some kind every time that person makes a post, or at least when they create a thread? Or better yet... an e-mail?

I'm fairly sure this feature doesn't exist, but if it does, I cannot find it. If it doesn't, is there any way we could implement it? Mods? :0008

So I noticed I can at least save search preferences, which might be the next best thing. But after I save them, where I can I find them? (Quick Links would be nice...)

Thad,

Why not just ask Hedgehog to email you his daily political observations directly?

Fumes..........

the purpose of a public forum is for posting opinions and picks, etc. and people joining up and coming to that said forum to read the opinions.

madjacksports is a open public forum format not a non-public forum.

I'm also confused...

And maybe I'm just not understanding your answer, but I'm still curious... "So I noticed I can at least save search preferences, which might be the next best thing. But after I save them, where I can I find them? (Quick Links would be nice...)"

at top of the forum (2nd from right) can you drop down "quick links" and then hit "open buddy list"?

not sure if this helps.

also if you open search at the top, and click on advanced search...at the very very bottom it has a drop down for saving search preferences.

Right on, that's what I'm referring to, but then I can't seem to find any way to actually use that saved search. I basically just have to do the search all over again.

Bump on this...

Any answer to my last question? I figure if there is a way to save searches there must be a way to access them.

Also, not to burden the board with a ton of questions (I thought I'd at least keep things within this thread), but 2 others...

1) What is the purpose of adding users to your "buddy list"? Does this allow you to do anything at all? Need their be a mutual acceptance between the two users for anything to take effect?

2) I almost just feel stupid here since I've been around for so long, but I feel like I've done it in the past... Is there really no way to send private messages??

Thanks for any help! :0008 :0074

thadchr,

as long as you are bring the tools into the 21st century could you go ahead and fix the spell-check also.

Thanks in advance for your continued efforts to improve the tools.

Not sure what you mean here? Initially I thought you were taking a shot at my spelling in the previous post, but I reread it and nothing looks to incorrect. So assuming that's not what you meant, is the board spell spell check broken? I'm on a Mac so there is an in-OS spell check; therefore I never use the one on the message board.

Interestingly enough by the way, you, as well as Box and One, happened to be the reason I asked all of these questions. I wanted to subscribe to his threads, and in your case, get in touch with you either through private message, the "friends" option (if you'd accept), or e-mail. Let me know?
