Find this to be a very intriguing match - obviously France needs to beat the Togolese by 3 clear goals to assure their place in the elimination round, while Togo will be on their way home regardless of the outcome
Watched Togo play in their 1st ever WC game against the Koreans and came away impressed - they held a 1-0 lead and looked pretty good until a questionable call lead to Abalo being lead off the field - the Sparrowhawks never recovered and in the end a 2-1 defeat left them down overall
Have to think Switzerland did not see Togo's best game last out - The deep political ties b/t France and Togo, in my opinion, created a "sandwich" situation - Sparrowhawks were coming off of their 1st ever WC game (pretty big) and in it had suffered a tough defeat, and on deck was France, who I'm assuming Togo was looking ahead to, if only slightly - not to mention the absence of Abalo
Togo def. has something to prove today - they have something to prove to the world, that they belong in this competition - they have something to prove to France, that they are no longer their UN sanctioned "little brothers" - and they have something to prove to themselves, that they can overcome this big-time soccer power and give their countrymen something to be extremely proud of - having their leader Abalo (66 caps) back and fresh should provide a boost towards that end
I think the situation with Togo's coach is almost a bit of a positive here, part of the thinking that Les Bleus' will roll easily I believe is b/c no one thinks the Hawks can band together behind their leader - therefore the super high lines - also everyone knows about France's situation, "simply" win by 3 clear and you're moving on - somehow I don't think it will be that easy -
My plan is to bet Togo +2.5 goals at -151 for about 3 units and hopefully be able to free up some $$$ to bet them every which way but loose - +1600, +1 +395, +1.5 +190, + 2 +117, and +1.5 and +2 +148 - If the French roll in and beat the hell out of Togo then fine, I will take my loss and move on, but if Togo can just hang within 2 I will net a small profit
I am not a huge soccer fan and I admit to not knowing the game very well, but I have a good feeling that this game means every bit as much to Togo as it does to France - will David be able to slay Goliath? If so there's a huge payday in it for me
Good luck to all and please keep posting info as many have been very helpful throughout the tourney thus far
