Always enjoy perusing your selections. I really like the Expos tomorrow as well. If you are looking for a game to cutdown, I'm not sold on Colorado at all. They beat Schilling and Johnson, but they were going against a team with little offense. The Cardinals have much better bats than the DBacks. Although against the Dodgers, the DBacks all looked like Babe Ruth today.
If you are curious, Simontachi has thrown at Coors Field once:

9/19/2002 Cardinals 12 Rockies 6 W ND 11.5 O 100 J Jennings

Good luck in all your plays

early games...

1.) MONTREAL plus 140....Cubs remind me a little of the rangers in hockey....on paper looks good...eventually underachieve...win when they should lose ...lose when they should win....today they have Clement on the mound a solid pitcher no doubt.....and we have basically an unknown in Zach Day...sure he has pitched a few games but until he has a full season under his belt we really can only speculate regarding his success or failure...

clement' career day numbers are as follows... 4.54 era/1.38 whip/201 BAA... respectable....

2.) vs montreal...1-4 ...4.75/1.58/ 228 BAA....o.k

3.) at wrigley...4.73/1.32/212 BAA

nothing real sticks out to me here as being terrible...respectable numbers...but look at his record vs expos...the highest BAA in the above 3 is 228 ...there is no way montreal shelled him in any start... so how is his record 1-4 vs montreal...

two things come to mind...errors forcing unearned runs...and bullpen losing the game...

now the cubs bullpen numbers have been a little inflated due to pitching at cinci...because against the mets ...pitching was not an issue for the cubs as they basically shut the mets offense down...

but i'll list numbers anyway..these are day game numbers
1.) CRUZ...2 innings pitched 0 runs
2.) remlinger...2 ip..7.71
3.) guthrie...2 Ip ..4.50
4.) farnsworth...1 ip...10.80
5.) veres...1 ip ..18.00

again numbers may not reflect an accurate assesment until we know more about the totals at Cinci...

but there is a possibility...that Cubs bullpen could blow this game... if Day can match clement for around 5 or 6 innings or keep them close ...montreal may be able to pull this one out in the late innings.....

i would expect clement to last anywhere between 5 and 6 innings
in 5 starts against the spos at home he lasted 6 2x...5 once...4.7 once..and 6.7 once....

at plus 140 i think this game is worth a shot on the dog......clement on the mound/home opener/off to a good start..playing against a team picked to do basically nada..so the cubs should win...LOL

adding a day game parlay...and a night parlay...i finally found a local who takes bases parlays...as the other 2 i go through dont take them as they claim they get hurt by them...who knows..

2.) parlay...yanks/pitt...

as i have stated before..i wont lay juice over 150 ..except when i see a game i really...really like...now to these two plays...

Mays scares me a bit for minny....he has exceptional numbers at yankee stadium...2.31 era/1.20/.184...and has the potential to pitch lights out on any given day....he also has the potential to get hammered....giambi's numbers vs mays are exceptional...and may' numbers in day games are downright scary....

from 2002....7.90 era/1.94 whip/.348 BAA
career 4.89/1.53/.260 BAA..better but not tremendous..

i think Pettitte should pitch well today against a team that sometimes has troubles producing runs vs. lefthanders...

career vs. minny
3.74/1.38/239 BAA
day games...3.99/1.39/.249

not outstanding numbers but respectable...the other aspect of this game that bothers me...is the yanks bullpen...they are not pitching well right now....so that bothers me a bit as well..

all in all im not carzy about the yanks today...as i think minny has a shot here....but as a flat bet on a parlay i'll take a chance..

PITT....Brewers are the brewers ...they find ways to lose...they can get 13 hits and score 2 runs because they strand runners left and right...

WELLs numbers....2002

home games ....3.75/1.38/235
vs brewers... 3-1/ 3.13/1.29/233

very similar numbers so we have some consistency there...

numbers career..
home...4.25/1.51/244
vs brewers....4-1/3.35/1.27/228

RUSCH...
2002..
away... 4.88/1.45/265
vs .pitt...0-3/6.07/1.62/265
at PNC park...5.54/1.54/267 BAA

wells' numbers are better all around...Pitt is playing good ball..but ist early in the season so im not laying the juice here...

Sanders has some good numbers vs. RUSCH as well...

starting to like the over here ...

thnaks everyone...good luck to you...

night plays...

3.) parlay...houston/oakland...

oakland is the best play on the board IMO....ZITO's numbers at Arlington are spectacular...and thomson on the mound for texas...

in 3 games at texas last year Zito pitched approximately 19 innings and gave up 5 earned runs ...only 2 home runs...he was 4-0 in 2002 vs. texas....

Dempster vs. oswalt ....career ...dempster is 2-4 vs. houston with an 6.13 era/1.72 whip

pitched 3 games vs. houston in 2002...
6-3 loss..6 earned runs..at houston
1-0 loss..at houston
7-4 loss..7 earned runs..at cinci

oswalt vs. cinci ..career ..5-0 1.84 era/0.95 whip
4 games vs cinci in 2002

at home
4-3 win..3 earned runs
at cinci
6-1 win..1 earned run
11-4 win... 4 earned runs
5-4 loss....but bullpen blew it...he gave up 0 runs

just think both games are pitching mismatches...but again too much juice ....so parlaying the 2

The dark side of the Moon
I am playing the over tonight in the bosox game if the rays got to him for 5 the jays should get to him for at least that and the red sox should be able to score 6 runs

added..

4.) tampa/baltimore over 10....

i want to take tampa but dont trust parque..

in 2002...in night games he went 1-4..10.36 era/2.01 whip/.281 BAA

in 24 innings pitched he allowed 11 homeruns..15 walks...and get this 29 runs in 24 innings..

i cant bet on a pitcher like that...

the only bright spot is that incredibly he is 4-0 vs baltimore..4.38 era/1.30 whip/and 260 BAA

but he hasnt pitched aginst them since 2000

...

GROOVEN...i was thinking of the BOSOX over myself...but lowe settled down after a rough start in tampa....rays are more aggresive than toronto and faster on the basepaths...Hendrickson is a lefty who could give the sox problems...he has had limited exposure vs. the sox ..(but successful nonetheless)...these types of lefties who the sox dont see much sometimes give thier bats problems...

but they are scoring runs in bunches ....indoors...turf with a grounball pitcher in LOWE...and the bullpen is horrendous ...so i see you logic pal...

good luck grooven

i really dont understand how i know Larue has great numbers vs. oswalt and good numbers at enron....at yet the manager insists on pitching to the guy all night....im really lost for words ...the home run happens...but that early run should never have happened....if anybody is interested take a look at oswalt vs. larue...and see that this guys numbers are phenomenol vs. oswalt....i just dont know how you pitch to him in that circumstance....especially at the bottom of the lineup...and with no one else in that lineup who has extended success vs oswalt...watching the game was fustrating

2-3 for the day...

minus $100...

for the year

13-10-1..plus $380 bucks...
