BREWERS PROBABLE STARTER: Glendon Rusch (0-1, 12.60 ERA). Rusch was hammered in his first start of the season -- Wednesday's 7-0 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. The left-hander allowed seven runs and 11 hits over five innings, but also struck out five and walked one. Rusch has struggled mightily against the Pirates throughout his career, going 0-6 with a 6.06 ERA in 10 career appearances, including nine starts.

PIRATES PROBABLE STARTER: Kip Wells (0-0, 6.00 ERA). Despite a career-high 12-win season last year, Wells got off to a rocky start this season, allowing four runs and eight hits, including two homers, over six innings Wednesday in the Pirates' 7-4 victory. Wells is 4-1 with a 3.35 ERA in six career starts against the Brewers.
