Why no Timeout Edwards?

WTF?? Chargers have it on 4th and goal, call a time out...if they score you have 45 secs to get in field goal range. If you stand, kneel the ball.

He'd rather a coin toss decide the season than his offense.

Am i missing something here?

sadly it was the right call. i thought for sure it would be bogus when i saw the flag thrown. but then the replay shows what a moron the guy who hit brees was. unreal.

Can someone PLEASE give me a valid reason herman edwards had for not calling a timeout when chargers were 4th and goal with 50 secs left??????

Ok...might be far-fetched, but I'll take a guess what Herm might say post-game...

Calling a timeout could be perceived as doubting your team. You're saying you are expecting the other team will score. If you don't call it, you're saying you have faith in them to stop them.

Not good strategy, but that's all I could come up with. :shrug:

Reality though is that he probably just wasn't thinking.

Joking aside.........I watch Mike and the Mad dog on WFAN and they said Edwards have made numerous questionable calls this year.....even last week early he went for 2 to go up by 7 and failed to only be ahead by 5......with that extra 1 point the Jets mave have won that game.......
