One thing I really miss is the SUPER CLEAN bathrooms that had an attendant who had everything from mouthwash, to aftershave, to candy bars, to bandaides, you name it.

Anybody took a dump, he would be right in there to clean up for the next shit.

Although I don't shit in public bathrooms unless it's a super emergency. kurby

Those BR's were a nice backup plan :0074

Worst job ever?

BTW, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who has a hang-up about public restrooms. #1 is fine, but #2? :nono:

On the course!
Back in the day I didn't have to look for it, it was thrust upon me! Not cheap as in cheap and bad but cheap as in inexpensive or free and good.

"Back then", you didn't have anywhere near the choices you have now for great food. All you had were the steak joints and seafood, and maybe some Italian tossed in along the way. The breakfast was the typical choke and puke that you can still find today on the cheap.

There are more 5 star chefs in Las Vegas now, than any place else in the world. 30 years ago, a big name chef would be embarrassed to say he worked there.

As far as the gambling goes, you can get that anywhere now. People don't go to Vegas "to gamble", like they did 30-50 years back. Now, it really is a vacation destination, and more of those people want to spend their money shopping, eating, and seeing shows, and going to high-end clubs. Since that is the case, management will charge top dollar for these events, and get it.

The fact is.......gambling no longer foots the bill out there, it is just a part of the overall picture.

Here
Was playing Duplicate Bridge at the Senior Citizen Center this morning...(yeah I got an aarp card)
The subject of good old vegas came up.
A lady in her young seventies commented how Vegas, since the suits took over is crap; told the table about seeing Nat King Cole for $4.00 (it included 2 drinks)

Ten Dollar rooms at nice establishments was standard rate.

Imagine those days of true legendary entertainment and wide open action.
Those must have been the true halcyon days of Vegas...now it is pandering to pool voyeurs to keep it afloat..

Yep and your casino host would send you Christmas presents :00hour I paid for NOTHING :sadwave: not even....... ;)

and I'm not even as old as Jack

You're the first person I have ever heard say they like restroom attendants. They stress me out. I don't want someone handing me a towel or offering to hit me with some cologne. I didn't go in there to drop a buck, I went in to drop a bomb.

Agree, and they always have an attitude although I would too if I had to listen to drunks fart and shit all night. BTW, I think Vegas is what you make of it today or 30 years ago. I have a great time every time I go.
