A good friend of mine and his wife are taking His parents to Vegas for the first time in a couple of weeks and asked me if knew anything about it. I told him that I kind of know of a few people that I can ask so here it goes. He his staying at the D but wants to go see as much as he can in a week. The question is what places he should definitely avoid and safe places that he should visit. Any information is appreciated.

the D is on Fremont street with easy access to many top line sportsbooks like Circa. It can be dangerous after midnight on the weekends, but other than that a nice area. You can alway take shuttle or taxi down the strip The D is walking distance to Circa, Golden Nuggett, Boyd/Fremont casino and lots of William Hill books too.

if this is the only time they'll be in that area, they could take a day trip to the Grand Canyon, if they've never been. it's a looooong day, but worth it. the bonus is, if you're going to the South Rim, you pass over the Hoover Dam.

It depends on what they like. There's something for everybody.

Since they are staying downtown they have to visit the strip too or they won't know what Vegas is like as a whole. I would recommend they tell the taxi driver to take them to The Bellagio and visit the conservatory for starters. Then take a walk on the strip and visit a bunch of casinos.

There's so much to do I don't know where to take it from there.

Do they like shows and what kind? Do they gamble and on what? Do they like to eat cheap or expensive or in between? Do they drink alcohol? Go visit Hoover Dam. Go to the Forum Shops at Caesars.
