Polite became the seventh Wildcats player arrested this summer. He was released on $750 bond.
As is his policy, K-State coach Bill Snyder won't comment on Polite until the judicial system has run its course. Anything else will be handled as an internal team matter, sports information director Garry Bowman said Thursday.
Polite, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound junior, played eight games last season and caught two passes for 14 yards. .
It's the second time a receiver has been in trouble during the off-season. Senior Derrick Evans was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia last month, and he's not on the current roster.

A K-State wide receiver was arrested Wednesday, the seventh football player arrested in two months.
Fritz Antoine Polite, 3105 Yolanda, was arrested at 1:24 p.m. Wednesday for driving on a suspended license. He was released on a $750 bond.
Polite was previously arrested on Sept.17, 2002 for failure to appear in court for a traffic-related charge.
Garry Bowman, sports information director, said the incident will be handled as all other legal matters involving players.
"They will let the judicial process take its course and anything with the team will be handled as an internal matter," Bowman said.
Riley County Police Department Lt. Kurt Moldrup was unavailable for comment.
K-State lost a starting wide receiver this summer after Derrick Evans was arrested on July 25 for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was previously arrested June 8, 2002 on drug-related charges. Coach Bill Snyder said earlier this month that Evans was currently not a member of the team.
Safety James McGill and running back Daniel Davis were arrested in connection with an incident in Aggieville in the early morning hours of June 28.
Spencer Coatney, senior in hotel and restaurant management, said he was knocked unconscious and mugged by a group of men police told him were K-State football players. He experienced fractured bones in his face and had to have eye surgery.
McGill was charged with battery and is scheduled to appear in court August 25. Davis was arrested on two counts of theft.
Tight end Travon Magee was arrested July 17 for violation of a protective order. Magee faces two counts of battery, one count of intimidation of a witness and one count of criminal damage to property from incidents in April involving Lacie Spain, senior in social science.
Also this summer, defensive end Alax Carrier was arrested on July 9 for DUI and nose tackle Andrew Bulman was arrested on July 23 for failure to appear.

Cats' depth chart almost complete

The cornerback void left by the departure of Terence Newman remains the last piece of the puzzle for the Kansas State football team.
Coach Bill Snyder said Monday that juniors Louis Lavender, David Rose and junior-college transfer Cedrick Williams are the top contenders to fill the spot vacated by Newman, one of the greatest players in school history. A decision must come soon because the Wildcats open at 6:45 p.m. Saturday against California in the Black Coaches Association Classic at Arrowhead Stadium.
?I think right now Louis Lavender is a step ahead, but it's still a close battle,? Snyder said.
Lavender is a 6-foot, 185-pound transfer from West LA College. He redshirted in 2002.
The two-deep chart released Sunday had multiple changes from the last depth chart, which was made available Aug. 2. The most noticeable alteration came at right defensive end, where senior Thomas Houchin was elevated from third string to starter. Junior Alax Carrier dropped from first team to third, while junior Kevin Huntley remained on the second team. Houchin played in all 13 games last season and was 10th on the team with 44 tackles.
Junior Antoine Polite has beaten out sophomore Davin Dennis at wide receiver opposite senior James Terry. Sophomore free safety Jesse Tetuan was listed in the latest depth chart as a tossup with senior James McGill, but Snyder indicated Tetuan has the edge.
Junior Jermaine Berry will start at nose tackle over senior Andrew Bulman, Snyder said. Bulman, according to The Manhattan Mercury, is out for the season because of a broken leg.
The newspaper report also listed starting senior tight end Thomas Hill and starting senior fullback Travis Wilson as having injuries that could curtail their minutes. Snyder reinforced Monday his policy on speaking about injuries.
?That gets into injury status, and you know I'm not going to comment on injuries,? he said.

? Offense: Junior-college transfer Travis Triplett has entered the picture, moving into the No. 2 slot behind junior Jon Doty at left offensive tackle. He replaced junior Chris Boggas, now No. 2 at right guard; sophomore Michael Weiner is listed behind senior Nick Leckey at center instead of Ryan Schmuecker; and junior tight end Brian Casey is second behind Hill. Casey replaced senior Travon Magee, who has been troubled because of legal issues.
? Defense: Redshirt freshman Brandon Archer has replaced junior Jared Johnson at a backup linebacker spot behind senior Bryan Hickman.
? FRESHMAN MIGHT PLAY: Freshman wide receiver Jermaine Moreira continues to impress Snyder. That's a signal Moreira could play this year.
?I think Jermaine has not disappointed anybody,? Snyder said. ?He seems to have gotten a good grasp on the things we are doing, and makes a limited number of mistakes for a freshman.?
Another newcomer on the right track is junior-college defensive tackle Malcolm Wooldridge.
?He got off to a slow start, but he has made some headway,? Snyder said. ?If that continues, he can be a factor.?
? CUTTING BACK: The early game has reduced the preseason in more ways than one.
The Wildcats were allowed 29 practices before the opener, but they'll probably fall two or three shy of that, Snyder said. Instead of overworking his team to get in all the practices, such as holding extra two-a-days, Snyder didn't push it.
?We went 19 days with only one day in which we weren't on the practice field,? Snyder said. ?They (players) usually get a week or two to get home and spend some time with their families. That just didn't happen this year.?
Snyder believes K-State will be prepared to play its earliest game ever.

Kansas State is about to venture into the unknown. Sure, the Wildcats are favored by as much as 28 points when they line up to play the Pac-10s California Bears in Saturday night's BCA Classic at Arrowhead Stadium, but there's always what not to expect that can cause trouble.
"You don't know what to expect in a first game," Coach Bill Snyder said. "We've both had a lot of time to prepare. We may be spending 80 percent of our time on something that won't be a part of the ballgame. Are we preparing for things that we will see?"
Cal coach Jeff Tedford took over a program last season that won just one game in 2001 and led the Bears to a 7-5 record. Cal did it with a wide-open passing game that featured quarterback Kyle Boller, but Boller was the first-round pick of the NFL's Baltimore Ravens.
So, the question becomes obvious: Was the difference Tedford's complex and difficult-to-defend offensive scheme, or the fact that a great quarterback was running the show?
K-State will find out early when Cal spreads the field and tries to confuse the Wildcat defenders.
K-State expects to see at quarterback both little-used returner Reggie Robertson and promising junior college transfer Aaron Rogers. Either way, the Wildcats will counter by attempting to confuse the quarterback, who is asked to make the calls based on the defense.
"He's their field general, he's the guy that's designed to give his offense the right decision," co-defensive coordinator Bret Bielema said. "Obviously any time you can give him what he believes is the answer, and if that answer is wrong, then you can create a little bit of anxiety within an offense."
Let the chess match and the season begin, and like always, we offer five keys to a K-State victory.
1. Don't show too much
It's the first game and K-State fans are itching to see the Wildcats' offense on display, but if you enjoy watching Ell Roberson and Darren Sproles run the ball, you may be a happy fan.
Look for the Wildcats to run the ball until Cal's defense proves it can stop the Cats' ground game. If that doesn't happen, look for the offense to become more and more vanilla as the game goes on.
A nice comfortable victory while keeping the play calling simple is Bill Snyder's hope, but if needed, he will open up the playbook as throw it as the Bears.
No matter how boring the offense may get, though, co-offensive coordinator Del Miller said it's time to test their skills against an opponent.
"At this stage of the game ... all the kids are ready to play. They probably aren't ready to play in (the coaches') sense because we still need more days to get ready, but they are tired of seeing themselves," Miller said.
2. Make special teams plays
Special teams have always been a strong point of Bill Snyder's program, but there are some looming questions heading into this season about the third dimension of the Wildcats.
Joe Rheem hasn't been consistent as a place-kicker and Jared Brite is debuting as K-State's full-time punter, but the real interest may rest with the returners.
Taking over for Terence Newman in any role is tough, but K-State's return men will have some added pressure on them. It will be interesting to see who lines up deep for the Wildcats on punts. Will it be Darren Sproles, or someone new such as redshirt freshman Maurice Mack who hinted he may see some time as a returner.
"I am on all four special teams," Mack said. "For me it's truly fun because I didn't play at all last year because I redshirted. I got real antsy at times. I'm just glad to be out there on the field now."
3. Limit turnovers
This is a good rule of thumb for any game, but with a national television audience watching, including nearly every pollsters in the land, looking a like a clean, efficient offensive machine will go a long ways toward earning some doubters' respect.
Cal is looking for a wide-open contest and there's no better way to keep the game calm then by controlling the ball, picking up first downs and grinding down the clock. It all starts with limiting those turnovers.
4. Watch out for trick plays!

5. Don't get in a shootout
Cal has once serious chance at victory. The Bears want to turn the game into a shootout much like Arizona State managed to do in the first half of the Holiday Bowl and Colorado did last year in Boulder.
If an opponent can somehow manage to teeter K-State's great defense on its heels, then it has a chance. Cal will do it by putting K-State's rebuilt secondary to the test.
"They're gonna try and make the field as broad as possible," Bielema said. "There are offensive gurus across the country, and I've got to belief that Tedford is at the top of the list. He has an ability to create, adjust and adapt to his own personnel, and that's what's going to come out this year."
Still, there's no denying the differences in talent and experience between these two programs.

Kansas State is about to venture into the unknown. Sure, the Wildcats are favored by as much as 28 points when they line up to play the Pac-10s California Bears in Saturday night's BCA Classic at Arrowhead Stadium, but there's always what not to expect that can cause trouble.
"You don't know what to expect in a first game," Coach Bill Snyder said. "We've both had a lot of time to prepare. We may be spending 80 percent of our time on something that won't be a part of the ballgame. Are we preparing for things that we will see?"
Cal coach Jeff Tedford took over a program last season that won just one game in 2001 and led the Bears to a 7-5 record. Cal did it with a wide-open passing game that featured quarterback Kyle Boller, but Boller was the first-round pick of the NFL's Baltimore Ravens.
So, the question becomes obvious: Was the difference Tedford's complex and difficult-to-defend offensive scheme, or the fact that a great quarterback was running the show?
K-State will find out early when Cal spreads the field and tries to confuse the Wildcat defenders.
K-State expects to see at quarterback both little-used returner Reggie Robertson and promising junior college transfer Aaron Rogers. Either way, the Wildcats will counter by attempting to confuse the quarterback, who is asked to make the calls based on the defense.
"He's their field general, he's the guy that's designed to give his offense the right decision," co-defensive coordinator Bret Bielema said. "Obviously any time you can give him what he believes is the answer, and if that answer is wrong, then you can create a little bit of anxiety within an offense."
Let the chess match and the season begin, and like always, we offer five keys to a K-State victory.
1. Don't show too much
It's the first game and K-State fans are itching to see the Wildcats' offense on display, but if you enjoy watching Ell Roberson and Darren Sproles run the ball, you may be a happy fan.
Look for the Wildcats to run the ball until Cal's defense proves it can stop the Cats' ground game. If that doesn't happen, look for the offense to become more and more vanilla as the game goes on.
A nice comfortable victory while keeping the play calling simple is Bill Snyder's hope, but if needed, he will open up the playbook as throw it as the Bears.
No matter how boring the offense may get, though, co-offensive coordinator Del Miller said it's time to test their skills against an opponent.
"At this stage of the game ... all the kids are ready to play. They probably aren't ready to play in (the coaches') sense because we still need more days to get ready, but they are tired of seeing themselves," Miller said.
2. Make special teams plays
Special teams have always been a strong point of Bill Snyder's program, but there are some looming questions heading into this season about the third dimension of the Wildcats.
Joe Rheem hasn't been consistent as a place-kicker and Jared Brite is debuting as K-State's full-time punter, but the real interest may rest with the returners.
Taking over for Terence Newman in any role is tough, but K-State's return men will have some added pressure on them. It will be interesting to see who lines up deep for the Wildcats on punts. Will it be Darren Sproles, or someone new such as redshirt freshman Maurice Mack who hinted he may see some time as a returner.
"I am on all four special teams," Mack said. "For me it's truly fun because I didn't play at all last year because I redshirted. I got real antsy at times. I'm just glad to be out there on the field now."
3. Limit turnovers
This is a good rule of thumb for any game, but with a national television audience watching, including nearly every pollsters in the land, looking a like a clean, efficient offensive machine will go a long ways toward earning some doubters' respect.
Cal is looking for a wide-open contest and there's no better way to keep the game calm then by controlling the ball, picking up first downs and grinding down the clock. It all starts with limiting those turnovers.

all information is sometimes vital to the right player..no matter how trival...it is up to the player to dissematie(spelling/sorry) the info...i remember posting a year and half ago 16 different articles on one baseball game and one certain madjacks' player picked up on one line of information from it for the next 3 games of that team and won a rather nice sum of money....so you never know....what comes out of a posting....good information is good..bad information is bad but no information is the worse........because it tends to make the player lazy.....i see posts with rundowns of numbers and whatnot in the baseball forum everyday that have no bearing on the game...but what it might do is get the player to investigate the real meaning of those numbers for him or her to make a more plausible decesion either way.....so anyways....
