KSU -27.5 over Cal
This is 2 teams going into different directions.KSU is loaded on both sides of the line. With a backfield of Roberson and Sproles, this team is explosive.OL is the typical B-12 line in size.WR's solid, etc
Defense is vey quick and of course athletic.Might even block a punt.KR team is one of the best rated.Synder continues to replace players from the juco ranks.
Synder is a great coach to have when your on his side.ATs record was 9-3 lyr.He is a coach who loves to kick the hell out of you.
Lyr scores of 48-3,68-0,and 63-13 are against pattycakes like WKU,UL Monroe and E.Illi.
But they ended their season with wins over B-12 schools,44-10,64-0,58-7,49-13 and 38-0.Thats over Baylor,Kansas,Iowa St,Neb,and Mizzou.
The key is the defense. Not the offense. We all like to jump on the big "O".They pursue and tackle better then anyone.
Synder has won 116 games in the past 14 yrs.KSU won 119 in the past 50 before that.
This team has national championship potential. And Synder would love to "rock" Cal tonite on national TV.

Cal is rebuilding after losing Boller and Igber.Thats 36 TD's combined. These 2 guys rank No 2 on Cals all time passing and rushing records.
They have a new Qb in Roberston. He just beat out 2 other guys. That could be a good sign meaning Cal has some Qb's on the rise or bad meaning no one really stood out. Will find out tonite.
Cal lost so many players esp on defense. They have only 2 or 3 players back. And defense was their weak point. They had some games lyr with scores of 52-41,55-38,30-28,48-38,46-22,etc.Now thats great against the Pac-10's Zona's,ASU's,Wash's,UCLA's,etc. And that is great with a Boller and Igber and Tedfords potent offense. So they have to score a lot to make up for the weak "D".
Well this yr they will struggle on offense and the defense really hasen't improved yet.Esp in the beggining of the season.Maybe at the mid-way pt.Cal's recruiting class was a top 10.In a yr or 2 they will be back.
But tonite in Arrowhead they are in for a long nite vs a coach with little mercy.Cal will have trouble with their offense vs anyone. But tonite they will meet one of the top 10 defenses in the country. And KSU's offense will explode on Cal's defense.
The line was -27,went to -28 and I think dropped to -27.5.I waited to long and got it at -27.5. Many times the half pt scares the hell out of me.Always seem to lose by it.
But tonite I don't think it has any effect.KSU defense is so much better then Cal offense. And KSU offense will protect and open up holes all nite.
Strong play for the Wildcats to roll over the Bears.

A couple of games I like next week are;
Rutgers -12.5 over Buffalo
Conn -5.5 over Indiana[really like this game]
North Texas +33.5 over OU
Ok St +8 over neb

KSU has handled PAC -10 teams[3-1 ats]Lyr beat ASU in the Holiday Bowl 34-27.Cal beat the hell out of ASU 55-38.But that was with Boller and co.
KSU needs a big win vs Cal because off all the crtisism it will get when it plays Troy St,McNesse St,Mass, and Marshall. Then they have Texas after that. What a schedule. And thats UMass. How they got on that schedule.A D1-AA team like McNesse.
So when there 5-0 on Oct 4th vs Texas and everyone is saying "how can they be ranked 7th in the nation" Synder can say" we at least beat a PAC-10 by 35-40 pts.But Tedford is a good coach. And again his recruiting class have some blue chippers. But they won't be ready by tonite.

I know a lot of people are jumping on the Wildcats.Haven't seen the percentage yet but its big I'm sure.
But KSU is a team that does very well vs the ats.In the past 2 yrs they are 8-3 and 8-2. damn, thats 16-5 ats.Other then a Wash St and a few more that has to be a betters dream.

Don't forget Snyder came from CAL and there may be a little ill will toward him, even though it was well before this crop of players. CAL is fast, and even though they're young, they're on the upswing as a program after the pathetic Holmoe era.
