Terrible loss for Texans. If he doesnt hit 53 yarder, they don't lose, and then they cannot stop 4th and 8. Oh boy, just painful, ruins what could have been a huge day.

yes, they are really bad. a very poor sign when they leave 1st team offense in whole game vs. crappy sd 3rd string d and don't really do much. a pathetic showing, although they probably should have grabbed a cover tonight. it just shows how bad they are.

Dom Capers is a f*cking moron. The Texans needed this game -- for confidence if nothing else. They got hammered versus a bad Dallas team last week in one of the most lackluster efforts I have ever seen from a pro team in any sport. Then, they return this week at home versus a team coached by one of the worse pre-seaon coaches in the modern era.

Houston gets ahead 17-16 with 3:00 remaining. David Carr looked good on the previous series, whihc was a touchdown.

Houston gets the ball back and essentially needs a first down and the ballgame is over. What does Dom Capers do?

He inserts Tony Banks into the lineup (MISTAKE NUMBER 1). Then, he runs two very conservative plays up the middle on 1st and 2nd down (MISTAKE NUMBER 2 -- remember, one first down and the game is over). Then, Capers has Banks throw a slant which (if caught) would not have been a first down (MISTAKE NUMBER 3)

He makes these abysmal calls with the game on the line (yes, I think it's important to win a game in pre-season, and nothing wil convince me otherwise). Dom Capers goes three and out, when a first down ends the game. He does this knowing that the San Diego kicker just nailed a 53-yarder on the previous series. In other words, if Houston has to punt on this series, the Chargers get the ball back at midfield and will be in FG range with a 15 yard gain.

Absolutely stuning. A disgraceful job of coaching. This idiot doesn't know what he's doing. Beware.
