MAC experts. I need feedback with this weeks games. Here is what I have, tell me what you think:

Maryland -7- over No. Illinois
Maryland has 16 of 22 starters back off last year's team and looks to be an ACC contender. The only that scares me is a look ahead to FSU next week, but how can you look past your first game. All front four return on D, with NIU starting 4 new OL. I don't see a blowout, but maybe a 10-14 point win.

Akron -11 over Kent St.
All 11 starters return on offense return on an offensive that beat the heck our of Kent last year 48-10. They get them at home this year, but I am not sure how much of a rivalry this is up there. Need help. This seems to be one of my top plays of the week.

Michigan St. -13- over CMU
Need help, but feel MSU will be up after last year's debacle season.

Thanks in advance guys.

SKIPPER..IM NO MAC EXPERT OR COLL. FOOTBALL EXPERT...NUT A FEW THINGS TO LOOK AT AND KEEP IN MINDIN THE MARYLAND GAME...

STARTING QB SCOTT Mcbrein HAS A STRAINED GROIN AND RECENTLY WENT THROUGH HIS FIRTS PRACTICE..AND IS SAID TO BE ABOUT 80% RIGHT NOW...

IF HE CANNOT GO SR. QB ORLANDO EVANS WILL START ..HE HAS 1 CAREER PASS AT MARYLAND..

IN ADDITION TO THAT INURY BRUCE PERRY MARYLANDS STAR TAILBACK WILL NOT PLAY....JOSH ALLEN WILL START IN HIS PLACE...

KEEP AN EYE ON THAT QB SITUATION..

GOOD LUCK

Just my early thoughts on the games that you mentioned, on the surface it seems that the Terps should be able to have thier way with NIU but I am going to pass on this game. Terps have some injury concerns on the offensive side of the ball and NIU has one of the most solid running backs in the country.

Akron and Kent
The score of last years game was in way an indication of just how close the talent level is at these two schools. Kent packed it in midway through the season alst year and basically just quit on Coach Pee's, although they also had some severe injury problems. The ZIps started the season 0-6, they return all 11 offensive starters and should be able to score with anyone in the MAC, Frye is the real deal at QB. Akron's problem as it was last year is going to be it's defense. How soon everyone has forgot about Kent's QB Cribbs, this guy was lights out his freshman season and then got banged up last year. Also, Kent has a solid RB in Alston whom will seriously challenge the corners on the ZIps defense. I have yet to see an over and under for this game but both these teams have the opportunity this year to have a high octane offense and both of their defenses are nothing to write home about. I see this game as a possible shoot-out with the last team having the ball winning. Another thing to keep in mind here is that these schools are seperated by about 15 miles and both of these coaches Owens and Pee's have the gun to there heads this year win or be gone. Akron doesnt traditionally draw well since the football stadium is about 10 miles away from the campus so if your looking at a home field angle, it wont be here the crowd will probably be 50/50.

CMU-MSU

Have not researched the game yet!
