Let the fun begin....
Man did I ever miss college football, nothing like sitting back all day saturday and enjoying the games...
PLAYS:
Georgia -2.5 (-110)
$110 to win $100
Wisconsin -3 (-113)
$565 to win $500
WISCONSIN is 8-2 in non-conference games over the last 3 seasons. (36-8 since 1992.)
WVU is facing a veteran Wisconsin team with a number of mismatches. The WVU DL is entirely new against a huge OL for the Badgers. The Badgers also return 9 on Defense and should slow a Mountaineer O with only 3 returning OLs. The Badgers are 3-0 all-time against the Mountaineers.
5 Things to Watch
STARTING DEBUT: Junior Morgan Davis is to get his first start at offensive left tackle for UW. Although he will face an unusual 3-3 front, with three down linemen and three linebackers, West Virginia's ends are relatively inexperienced. Sophomore Ernest Hunter and senior Fred Blueford have combined for a total of 23 tackles for the Mountaineers. This could be the type of matchup Davis needs to establish himself.
EVALUATING EVANS: UW senior wide receiver Lee Evans takes the field for the first time since the 2001 season finale. Although he emerged from pre-season camp unscathed and appeared to be gaining confidence each day, this game should provide a tougher test. West Virginia's secondary is the strength of the defense, and Evans should discover quickly how closely he resembles the player who tore up the Big Ten in 2001.
PASSING FANCY: West Virginia's defense will have to slow tailbacks Anthony Davis and Dwayne Smith, but at what cost? When the teams met last season, Davis was held to 75 rushing yards in 19 carries, but wide receivers Brandon Williams (six catches, 125 yards) and Jonathan Orr (five catches, 94 yards, two touchdowns) burned the Mountaineers all day.
RING THE BELL: Junior Brett Bell is back home at cornerback after two seasons as a reserve free safety. Bell never felt or looked comfortable at safety because deep down he thought of himself as a cornerback. West Virginia's receiving corps is unheralded, but the Mountaineers' spread attack, led by junior quarterback Rasheed Marshall, will allow Bell to display his wares.
Q-BALL: When the teams met last season, Quincy Wilson was West Virginia's No. 2 tailback. With then-senior Avon Cobourne getting the bulk of the carries, Wilson, the son of former Chicago Bears linebacker Otis Wilson, carried once for zero yards. Wilson went on to finish with 901 rushing yards and an average of 6.4 yards per carry. The 5-foot-10, 215-pound senior will be the Mountaineers' featured back and a player Wisconsin has to contain today
CMU +33 (-107)
$214 to win $200
Michigan are 2-6-1 ATS in theior last 9 home games
Mia O +10.5 (-105)
$105 to win $100
Miami came close to toppling the Hawks last year having two TDs called back on penalties. This year the Red Hawks face a Hawkeye team rebuilding on O and have a great chance to keep this one below the number. Miami loses only 13 letterman and has a great tandem in the offensive backfield in QB Ben Roethlisberger and 1000 yard rusher Nate Clemens.
WMU +14 (-108) ML +520 (UPSET SPECIAL)
$108 to win $100
$100 to win $520
I give WM a very good chance at winning here, MSU are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 @ home
USF +15.5 (-110)
$220 to win $200
USF 13-3-1 ATS since joining Div I
Nebrasksa -7.5 (-102)
$204 to win $200
Nebraska has something to prove after last year and look for them to start with the Cowboys. Nmbers show an 11 point Husker victory with a solid ground game. Nebraska had a rough year last season but still managed to cover 4 of 5 as a home favorite and look for them to do as well this week.
Miss -13 (+103)
$100 to win $103
Vandy is 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 at home. Eli will make a statement in his senior year.
Looking at Wash, Frst St, Usc, Rice, and Col-Col St OVER plays later in the day.
GLto all!
Again, BEST BET WISKY!!!
