i don't know how a team that is facing a rival can come out as flat as clemson did today vs. georgia. i'm not saying that they should have won the game or even covered, but to simply miss blocks or miss tackles is fundamental football. bowden thinks that his cute style, touch football type offense that he played at tulane will do as well at clemson. doesn't he realize that clemson plays different type of caliber teams then tulane plays. when you play in these top conferences you must be able to run the football between the tackles & try to knock the other team's defense on their ass. a good coach should be able to adapt his style of play to the type of competition that his team is facing. cute football may get you to a bowl game but if you can't control the line of scrimmage in the bowl game you will get your ass handed to you, like what happened to clemson over the last few years.

i think he would have been fired if his name wasn't bowden.

i am not huge follower of clemson but i do know a couple times I watched them on TV LY i could hear Fridge Perry ordering the left side of the menu to ease his pain ... they didnt even seem to care or have fire, obviously same thing today ...

ar, not to disagree, bowden is not special. however, why did everyone expect geo to play poorly ? clem was not good last year. geo still has david greene, rec from last year, and that freak pollack on def. i do not think geo is that great, but i certainly think clem will be no better than they were last year. jmo.

elvis,
i'm not sying that clemson should have won the game, but
opening game vs. a competitor & clemson showed no heart. that's the coach's fault.

the auburn coach is another one. his team was talked about during the off season as having a great team. opening game vs. a ranked opponent & his team doesn't show anything.

alot of football is mental & these two coach's did not have their teams menttally prepared. and it wasn't the first time that these teams have come up flat.

imo bad coaching by 2 over rated coach's.

and we could probably throw mack brown into this mix.

you can't throw mack in the mix. he was there before the others ever got there. mack could be one of the worst coaches i ever saw. anyone who plays that underachiever chris simms has the award all to himself.
