LeFors is the starter for U of L. He is 6' 200 lbs. He is supposed to be very accurate. Knows the offense the best. L-ville's coach says he is the best "running" qb on the team. Rascati is his backup. He has the most powerful arm of the 3 qb's. Bush is the 3rd string qb. He will probably end up starting sometime this year. He is a very good athlete and will get some playing time today at tailback/wide receiver and possibly qb. You may find some info your looking for below.

here is some info from someone very close to the team who knows Louisville like the back of their hand....and they are laying a few dimes on Kentucky FYI..........
[Start Writeup]
Well as most of you know me, I love to bet this game and am posting early so all you guys and gals can get the line early when it comes out.

I will post my reasonings as we go along the next week or so, but this game is going to be one-sided in favor of the Kentucky Wildcats. In fact, I don't see UL offense putting more than 14 points on the board and I see the Cats scoring at will.

Louisville is losing receivers left and right as projected starter JR Russell is facing jail time and probably will not play. The Cards are going to make a statement that they are going to try and run under Petrino( Auburn offensive coord last year).

Ky has great depth in their receiveing corps and a couple of really fast guys. They will get some easy long TD's that will make it easier for them to run in the middle of the game.

More to come as I am looking for the CATS to spank the Cards pretty good this year.....get it early and get it often as I think the line will start out in the 4-5 range in favor of the CATS and go north from there.

CATS- Whatever.....won;t matter.

20 Units On the CATS

Looked at the Cards defense pretty closely during yesterday's first full scrimmage. From my point of view the defense appears to be undersized and I do know they lack experience. Could be a long year for the defense if some of the younger players don't develop and develop fast.

Good friend of mine says the Cats defense is quick and will allow them to put more up to stop the cards run, which is the only way they will be able to pass....no run, no passing. Ragone is gone and neither of the projected starters( LeFors, Rascati or Bush) can take control of a game and get you some quick scores.

More to come......still Loving the Cats.....even though the line probably will be higher than I originally anticipated....I was hoping for the 4.5-5.5 range and looks like it may drift up to the 6.5- 7 range.....even before I can bet it.

ahhh yes...... I grabbed the -5 and ran. Also am very interested in the Under 53. I really think this game comes in the low 40's at best and may pull the trigger on a POUND on the under.....but will analyze more before I pull that trigger.

More to come on this as the fun is just getting started.

Adding to our running analysis.......

Louisville's punter just plain sucks. This will cause them field position in at least 3 drives by Kentucky. In fact, I will even go as far as saying he will have one blocked or drop the snap.

Fact 1 on Petrino.....he has not put up with and SH*T in practice and if the players mouth off or have a late hit they have to run the field. He has put a lot of discipline in this team.

Fact 2....he will run the ball often and early, not sure they have the passing game as all QB's are untested and "green". OL is better than last year......but they don;t have the QB they had last year.

This play is based on UK's offense and UL lack of defense....especially when it comes to the LB's and safeties....UL will get burned as UK is FAST.

I am just convinced Petrino is going to try and run the ball too much and when they throw they run the danger the QB is just average.

Huge Home Crowd advantage for the Cats will help.....remember when the game is in Louisville all the Louisville fans sell there tickets to UK fans and cover there whole season ticket package...last years game was about 60% Card fans and 40% UK fans......this Year it will be 95% CATS and 5% Cards as the Cats will not sell there tickets for this one.....trust me.

Final Write-up before Game next weekend.

Cards have 16 Seniors on the roster....16!!!

2-TE's
1-WR's
3 -Offensive Lineman
2- RB's( 1 will start)
1-Defensive Tackle
0- Defensive Lineman
2- Linebackers
2- Defensive Backs
2- Kickers( 1 will play)

This makes the Cards Short on experience.

In addition, Petrino will play 9 "True Freshman" this year....as he sets up the team for the years to come. While QB LeFors is accurate and pretty Mobile, this is his real 1st game as a player and I don't think he will respond to the point of putting 21 Points on the board.

Petrino has said all week that the team "has a long way to go"...and I believe him. I really think he will do a great job....I just think he is short handed this year.

Remember this....no team since the beginning of the 2000 season has registered more sacks than the Cards....over 130 of them and the Cards wre one of the top teams in getting turnovers.....

All this not likely to continue this year.

Well the unknown is Petrino is one hell of a motivator....seen him at work. Sometimes this motivation makes them play way over their heads.....however, talent( or lack of) will come out eventually. My only concern in this game, and the reason it is not a POUND, is if Louisville scores quickly on a turnover....then Petrino will run the ball and the clock....and he might have some success if he takes KY out of their game plan.

Eventually, KY will control it.....but I am not willing to risk a POUND bet against Louisville yet.....maybe later in the year.

My prediction is 35-14.....however, if Louisville scores first...then it will be more likely 28-21......not enough room for error.

First and foremost -- Archer was never under Mumme. He left prior to Hal. Archers defenses were very good for three of the 4 years. The one bad year was due to a lack of Curry offense and several turnover's. Put that together and you get Low motivation from the players.

1993 - 17 ppg
1994 - 36 ppg ( Offense less than 13 ppg)
1995 - 24 ppg

This was a strange era in UK football. There was NO committment from the school to win. That is why he is back know.

The bottom line for this game is talent UK is far superior.
You don't replace NFL caliber players in CUSA that easily.
UofL lost on Defense. D WHite, Burns, Floyd, Johnson to the NFL draft. This year they had 1 NFL able player return. Corner back Galishaw. he has been kicked off the team. What that means is that UofL loses 5 NFL level players off a defense that was average at best last season. last Year UofL only beat two team with winning record. FSU in the rain and So. Miss is 2OT. Then you take away there best players......Not a good sign. Considering that you are adding Sophs and Freshmen to play Corner vs much better coached WR's and an experienced QB. it spells disaster.

Look at the series history. The team with the better QB play wins the game..Big!
Couch vs Redman Blow out UK
Redman vs Bonner Blow out UofL
Ragone vs JLo #1 (Even OT win for the Cards)
Ragone vs JLo ( UK new Offensive system, Blow out Cards)
Ragone vs JLo#3 ( Ragone was killed, UK SU win picking up 12 or so...

2003 JLo vs Stephon Lefors
UofL last year had NO offensive line, This year they have the same players, They do have a big time RB. But he is not supperman. UK has one fo the best Defensive lines in the SEC even with the departure of #4 draft choice to the Jets.

Uk also will confuse the young QB with the 3-4 Scheme. The Oline will be a little better but they will get confused when they can't here the audibles etc.....

Then you consider UofL lost the big time WR's they ( Recruits and Current) Vickers, Spillmen etc...

UofL isonly better in two posistions. RB and TE. Both of these will be rendered useless if the QB can not operate.

Don't be suprised when "Mighty Mouse" cathes all the headlines. he is the new JUCO RB at UK 5'6" 170 lbs. He will run wild! Similar to a Barry sanders or Mark Higgs. He will be used the same way the Spoles for KSt is used. Who as you may have noted last Saturday he ran for 180 yds. This will be done behind what is expected to be one of the best OLines in the SEC.

As far as punting goes......UK also is not so good here. UK kicker also will not play..not much drop off to #2 though.

UK will score early and it will take the ball out of the Big RB's hands. When this happens the Passing game will allow UK to get afte the QB and put some pressure on him in way's College teams are not used to. This will allow Uk to get some overdue INT's that have escapped then the last three seasons. ( 22 total 3 yrs)

in closing....
TALENT,TALENT,TALENT,TALENT,TALENT,TALENT,TALENT,T
ALENT,TALENT,TALENT,TALENT,TALENT,TALENT,TALENT,TA
LENT,TALENT,TALENT,TALENT,TALENT,TALENT,TALENT,TAL
ENT,TALENT,TALENT,TALENT,TALENT,TALENT,TALENT,TALE
NT,TALENT,

is why Uk wins going away..
Not to mention how this is the first year they have been in SEC type conditition physically.

Well here I sit in sunny Saratoga Springs......hearing that the state of Ky is under water with the rain the last day and a half.

Glad I did not pull the trigger on the total as the wet field will cause some easy scores for someone....more than likely the speedy KY receivers.

Good luck to all on this game. Really liking my spot at -5 as my local already has 6 and 6.5.....

Let's hope for an easy win to start the year off.
[End writeup]

This person had all the calls on Louisville last year nailed to the T, lets hope it continues.........

Heavy rain should hit about kick off time. Shouldn't last longert than the 1st quarter. It won't rain the rest of the game after that, but the field will still be wet. Should be around 1" of rain. Believe that will be to KY's advantage and the passing game.
