Teams in their 3rd straight road game....very profitable!

Last year I posted a trend towards the end of the season that I made a little money on but wished I would have got on it earlier in the season.

Teams playing in their 3rd straight road game tend to have a tough time. This trend proved to be very profitable last year. It happened 26 times that a team had three straight road games. It hit for a nifty 73%, going 19-7. So if you played against the team in their 3rd straight road game last year and played it for 1 Unit each time, a unit being $100 you would have banked a nifty $1100(approx.)

So here goes for this year. Thought I would post this early in the season so nobody misses out on this trend in case they want to play each game all year.

Legend - Team in the 3rd straight road game, date and team they are playing against.

Utah St. - Sept. 13 @ Arizona St. (first three games on the road)
Troy St. - Sept. 13 @ UAB (first three games on the road as well)

La. Tech - Sept. 20 @ Fresno St.
Miami, OH - Sept. 20@ Colorado St.(first three games on the road)
Middle Tennesee - Sept. 20 @ Missouri

Louisiana-Lafayette - Oct. 4 @ Oklahoma St.
Idaho - Oct. 4 @ New Mexico St.
Temple - Oct. 4 @ Middle Tennessee St.

Stanford - Oct. 11 @ USC ( bye week before 3rd game)
Wyoming - Oct. 11 @ Utah St. ( bye week before 3rd game)
Louisiana Monroe - Oct. 11@ Louisiana Lafayette

Memphis - Oct. 25 - @ Tulane
New Mexico St. - Oct. 25 @ Louisiana Monroe

Arkansas St. - Nov.1 @ New Mexico St.

Army - Nov. 8 @ Air Force
Akron - Nov. 8 @ Central Michigan
Troy St. - Nov. 8 @ Mid. Tennessee St.

Tulane - Nov. 15 @ Southern Miss.
Ball St. - Nov. 15 @ Eastern Michigan
Idaho - Nov. 15 @ Louisiana Monroe
Troy St. - Nov. 15 @ Utah St. (4th straight road game)

**Troy St. has a brutal schedule and goes on the road twice for three straight road games. They end with a 4th in a row.

Hope this helps all of you! Lets hope it is as profitable this year as last year. GL

Good Info but some corrections and additions:

WV at Miami is not their 3rd straight game.
I'm showing WVU is home vs Cincy, then @md, @miami

Additions:

CFla @ Syracuse-Sept 20
CFla @ Kent St-Sept 27 (4th straight)

Temple @MTSU-Oct 4th

Idaho @ LA Monroe- Nov 15

Thanks for the additions. You are right about Temple and Idaho.

I got Central Florida playing on the road in Week 1 and then at home to Flor. Atlantic and then on the road for 2(Syracuse and Kent St.) so it does not apply.

As well, I got WV playing at home to Wisconsin and then on the road at E.C., Maryland and Miami.

So we have 22 situations of teams playing 3 straight road games.

Take care buddy and GL this season!

okay:

West Virginia DOES NOT APPLY.

UCF DOES NOT APPLY (had them on the road vs Fla Atlantic)

looks like we have 21 occurances. Most teams are dog meat and will be getting dd's early as they play at BCS conference team. I think the only BCS team on this list is Stanford and they are at SC so they will be getting dd's as well.
Later in the year it looks like it's dog meat team on the road vs their dog meat conference rival.

good luck to all

Horns,

I checked the 2001 and 2000 from Jim Feist's College Football and came up with some bad stats.

I checked all those with 3 or 4 straight road games and in 2001 it was 15-17 record ATS, and in 2000 it was 11-5 ATS.

Believe me, I was hoping there was a trend. Let me know if you get different figures.

what about in games with spreads over 28 points? Is that more likely less likely or the same? Sounds like an ACT question!

Percent is wrong

Percent is wrong

45 - 29 is 60.8% over the last 3 yrs

Still a profit of $1310 based on $100 per play.

Thanks for the trends and your work.:)

Third Straight Road Game --

Consider Washington State in this situation -- their first game of the season was actually played in Seattle (6 hours from Pullman) and last week at Notre Dame...this week at Colorado....I personally feel the Buffs ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!
